The sense of peace that Pond had felt after Phuwin's day out was short-lived. As much as he tried to quell his insecurities, the unease continued to gnaw at him, especially when Phuwin started to spend more time outside the house. Phuwin's newfound independence, while necessary, began to trigger old fears in Pond. He found himself questioning Phuwin's every move, though he tried desperately to keep those thoughts to himself.

But the tension was building again, and it was only a matter of time before it boiled over.

One evening, Phuwin returned home later than usual. He had spent the day catching up with friends and working on a new art project at the studio. When he walked through the door, he was greeted by the sight of Pond pacing back and forth in the living room, his face a mask of barely contained frustration.

"Where have you been?" Pond asked sharply, his voice laced with an edge that immediately put Phuwin on guard.

Phuwin paused, taken aback by the tone. "I was at the studio," he replied calmly, trying to defuse the situation before it escalated. "I told you I'd be working late."

"I know what you said," Pond shot back, his eyes narrowing. "But you've been spending so much time away from home lately. What's really going on, Phuwin?"

Phuwin's heart sank as he realized where this was heading. He had hoped that Pond's apology and their recent progress would prevent another confrontation like this, but it seemed that the old patterns were resurfacing. "Pond, we've talked about this," Phuwin said, his voice gentle but firm. "I need space to do my own thing, to focus on my work and spend time with friends. It doesn't mean I care about you any less."

But Pond wasn't convinced. His mind was a storm of doubt and fear, and he couldn't shake the feeling that Phuwin was slipping away from him. "It feels like you're pulling away," Pond said, his voice cracking with emotion. "Like you're shutting me out."

Phuwin sighed, the frustration starting to bubble up inside him. "I'm not pulling away, Pond. I'm just trying to find a balance between my life and our relationship. You have to trust me."

But trust was the one thing Pond was struggling with the most. His insecurities were getting the best of him, and the more Phuwin tried to explain, the more Pond felt like he was losing control. "I just want things to go back to the way they were," Pond said, his voice trembling with desperation.

Phuwin's patience was wearing thin. "The way they were?" he repeated, his voice rising slightly. "Pond, the way things were was suffocating me. I can't go back to that. We need to move forward, not backward."

Pond clenched his fists, feeling the familiar surge of frustration and helplessness. "So, what? I'm just supposed to sit here and watch you drift away?"

"No, Pond," Phuwin replied, his voice softening. "You're supposed to trust that I love you and that I'm not going anywhere. But you have to give me the freedom to be myself. That's what I need from you."

The tension between them hung heavy in the air, neither willing to back down, but both acutely aware of the emotional minefield they were navigating. Pond's fears were clouding his judgment, and despite Phuwin's reassurances, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was losing him. As the argument escalated, so did Pond's desperation to hold on to what they had, even if it meant pushing Phuwin further away.

In a moment of frustration, Pond stepped closer to Phuwin, his hand reaching out to grasp his arm. The gesture wasn't forceful, but it was firm enough to make Phuwin pull back instinctively. "Pond, don't," Phuwin warned, his voice steady but laced with a warning.

But Pond's grip only tightened, his eyes pleading with Phuwin to understand his pain. "I just want us to be okay," Pond said, his voice shaking. "I don't know how to do that if you keep distancing yourself from me."
