LeeKnow and Maple, school rivals who never got along, found themselves in an unexpected encounter on a rainy day. LeeKnow stumbled upon Maple sitting alone on the school rooftop, soaked to the bone and crying uncontrollably. This vulnerable side of her was a shock to him, as she had always been strong and confident. Just as he approached her, he heard the sound of students heading towards the rooftop, and quickly closed the door to prevent them from interrupting. He then sat beside Maple, putting his jacket over her head to shield her from the rain.
LeeKnow: (says nothing, just sits there, his presence a comforting silence)
Maple: (cries harder, surprised by LeeKnow's unexpected kindness)
LeeKnow: (still silent, just looks at her with a gentle expression)
Maple: (eventually calms down, looks up at LeeKnow with tears-stained eyes)
Maple: (softly) Why...why are you being nice to me?
LeeKnow: (still silent, just looks at her with a gentle expression)
Maple: (sniffles, looks away, but doesn't pull away from the jacket's warmth)
LeeKnow: (gently puts his hand on her shoulder, a rare gesture of comfort from a rival)
Maple: (closes her eyes, feels a sense of security with LeeKnow by her side)
(The sound of rain and their quiet breathing fill the rooftop, a rare moment of truce between rivals.)
LeeKnow: (breaks the silence) Cry all you want, I won't tell anyone. But can I cry in front of you too, one day, if I need a shoulder?
Maple: (smiles through tears) Thanks, LeeKnow...anytime.
LeeKnow: (smiles back, a small, genuine smile)
(They sit in comfortable silence for a moment, the tension between them dissipating.)
Maple: (sniffles) I guess I needed that.
LeeKnow: (nods) We all do, sometimes.
(They share a soft, understanding glance, and for the first time, see each other in a different light.)
(As they part ways, Maple turns to LeeKnow and smiles as their eyes linger on each other for a moment, a spark of something new and unexpected between them.)
Maple: (softly) Take care, LeeKnow.
LeeKnow: (smiles back) You too, Maple.
That day, something shifted between them. They began to see each other in a different light, as more than just rivals. A foundation of trust and understanding was laid, and their relationship started to blossom into something new.
From that moment on, they still
competed, still pushed each other to be their best, but now they did it with a deeper respect and appreciation for each other. They had discovered that even in the midst of rivalry, there was room for kindness, empathy, and connection and maybe something more.Stay tuned
