What the actual fuck.

Hawks was used to... shenanigans when it came to the League, but THIS. This was a whole new level.

"So, I have to be dreaming, right?"

He gazed down at the three kids lying on the floor. The oldest they could be was six, at youngest four, maybe. Two boys, one girl. Only one of them immediately recognisable. And STILL in baggy clothes that positively swam on them.

They were admittedly kind of cute.

The boy with red and white hair was the first one to stir. He sat up with a grumble, rubbing his head. "Huh?" Bright teal eyes widened, glancing around in a panic, when he saw the hero. "Who are you?"

His loud exclamation had woken the other two. They both sat up, seeming to be confused as hell. Hawks shook himself. This is just a dream, I can play along with this, right?

Although it feels too real to be a dream...

"Hey there," he said with a grin (albeit a slightly forced one).

Toga gasped, eyes shining. Standing, she ran over to him with surprising coordination, flinging herself at his wings. He grunted at the impact.

"Your wings are sooooo soft!" She all but yelled, ecstatic. He stiffened at the feeling of her stroking his wings, when his eyes fell to the last kid.

With soft grey eyes and dark black hair, he looked nothing like Shigaraki.

He spoke, in a voice that was soft and gentle. "Are you a hero?" Shigaraki asked, in a voice of wonder.

"Um. Yes? Yes, that's my job." He crouched, accidentally knocking Toga over with a giant wing, so that he had to catch her again. "Do you. Um." How the hell was he meant to ask this?

"Do you want to come with me?" Hawks blurted. "I'll keep you safe, promise."

The kid with red and white hair- no, Dabi, looked up, curious, and maybe a bit suspicious. "My dad said not to talk to strangers. And you still haven't told me who you are, so you're a stranger. So I don't think I can go with you." He frowned, looking so cutely angry that Hawks had to stop himself going aw. It was reasonable though.

"I'm pro hero Hawks," he said with a small grin. "One of the best heroes in Japan."

All three of them gasped, scurrying to his front. Toga and Shigaraki started bombarding him with questions.

"Do you save people lots and lots?"

"Do you fight bad guys?"

"What ranking are you?"

"Have you ever seen someone bleed?"

He put up his hands, suddenly feeling sorry for Eraserhead. How did you children? Deal with children, whatever. He was outnumbered, and he would have preferred to fight the actual villains rather than the child counterparts. "One at a time, please!"

Dabi was the only one who stayed silent, looking him up and down with a scrunched nose.

Hawks paused for a minute to think. I can't- I won't take them to the Commission, he decided firmly. If this is temporary, I'd be jeopardising my entire mission as a spy the moment they turned back. No, I'd better take them to my place, and figure out what to do from there.

A horrible thought struck him. "Hey, Shigaraki?"

He frowned when none of them responded, just looking at him blankly. "Um. You? What is your name if it isn't Shigaraki?" He pointed to Shigaraki.

"I'm Tenko!" Said the kid with a small smile. "Tenko Shee-moo-rah. Shimura!"

"Great, Tenko," said Hawks, mentally filing away that information. "Hold this?" He picked up a branch from the ground, passing it to him. Tenko grabbed it, and Hawks let out a sigh of relief as the branch held. Great, he didn't have to deal with that.

"Look, I'm going to take you kids to a safe place, just stay low, ok? It's... um..." He paused. "A super secret stealth mission, so I need you guys to stay undetected. Got it?"

All three heads nodded in unison, and he smiled. "Great, not far to go."

He led the way, taking alleys and side streets, folding in his wings until they became unnoticeable, as the kids hurried to keep up.

"So," he asked casually. "Tenko Shimura, and what are your names? Ages and quirks, too, maybe. I'll start. I'm pro hero Hawks, I'm 23, and my quirk is Fierce Wings. Tenko?"

".... Tenko Shimura. I'm five, I don't have a quirk yet. My daddy says I'm a late bloomer." Hawks raised an eyebrow.

"Very cool," he said, peeping out at the street in front of them. "What about you, little girl?"

"Toga Himiko!" She said with a wide grin that displayed her pointy teeth. And is kind of cute. "I'm five, an' I can shape shift!"

"Alright, Toga." Hawks smiled a little at the girl's enthusiasm. She was so adorable when she was little. Was it her quirk that changed her that much? "And what about you, little man? What's your name?"

"..."

"Touya."

"Touya Todoroki."

This was a FUN first chapter, lol. Hawks still thinks it's a dream. Bad news for you, dude.

And ending with that reveal?

Sorry.

Couldn't help it.

Get some sleep if it is past 2am for you. If you haven't drunk water, please do that.
