The Bloom (더 블룸) is a South Korean survival show produced by MBC where trainees that were involved in planned debut groups in their respective agencies compete to earn the opportunity to debut under Racha Entertainment, the subsidiary under JYP Entertainment that was made by the boy group Stray Kids back in 2021, in a new girl group.
The trainees first go through an evaluation where they preform a song by an artist under their original company and are given a rank based on their performance, Low, Middle and High and depending on how many are in the group, so many Highs can be given out. Those that are ranked as High trainees in the first few episodes are classed as the main contenders to debut while those in low get eliminated every now and again.
Eventually the girls will be split from their trainee debut groups and will be mixed and this is where it gets more interesting and the 1-8 voting system is introduced. The 1-8 system is based on who you want as your picks to debut in number order with 1 being the highest and 8 being the lowest.
Through the 1-8 system, after the first few trainees are confirmed to go through the next part, the select amount of trainees at risk of elimination will collect points regarding on how many chose them as a numbered pick and they will progress to the next part where it's everyone for themselves as they try and earn a debut spot.
The Host was Kep1er's Bahiyyih and she was accompanied by IVE's Wonyoung in part 2 and the finale. The vocal judges were StrayKids' Seungmin and SNSD's Taeyeon; t he rap judges were StrayKids' Changbin and Han along with (G)I-DLE's Soyeon and finally the dance judges were StrayKids' Hyunjin and TWICE's Momo. Due to their positions in the company, StrayKids' BangChan, Leeknow, Felix, I.N and BlackPink's Rose were also on the judging panel for certain episodes and they mainly appeared after part 2 yet made some appearances in part 1.
