I SMILED AS I greeted every person who greeted me. I went to the office to sign some papers. Christian, the Vice Chairperson of the Student Council, greeted me with a smile on his face.
“Good morning, too, Chris. You’re early.”
He smiled. “Yeah, as usual.”
I placed my things on my table and sat on my swivel chair. I have a lot of papers to sign because the UP Musician's Guild is planning to conduct a concert for a cause.
“Ah, Miss President...” I looked at Chris. “Are you free later after class? Let’s have some coffee.”
I smiled apologetically. “I cannot go. I have plans with the girls after class. Sorry, Chris.”
“Oh. That’s fine. There will be next time, right?”
I could not tell him no, so I just nodded my head and proceeded on signing the papers.
When I heard the bell rang, I stood up and fixed my things. I left the office and went to my first class. My classmates greeted me with a smile, and I did the same.
The class started and I listened carefully while taking down notes. For the next subject, which is one of our majors, everyone was surprised with the unexpected recit.
Thankfully, I nailed it.
When the break came, I stayed in the office to sign the remaining documents for the proposed concert for a cause. I wasn’t able to eat because I had to double check everything before signing the papers.
“Hindi ka kumain, Miss President?” Hannah, secretary of the student council, asked when she saw me in the office.
I shook my head. “I will after this. There’s only a few to check.”
“Grabe, you are really hands on. Kaya gusto ka ng lahat.”
I chuckled softly. “Don't praise me. Baka lumaki ulo ko niyan.”
“Wala kaming pakialam kahit maging tatlo pa ulo mo! We still love you.”
I just laughed at her, closing the last folder I was holding. I fixed my table and grabbed my bag. I bid my farewell to Hannah, who is already making a report about yesterday’s meeting.
I don’t have class yet, so I decided to leave the university and went to a café. I had my laptop and iPad with me because I have a lot of readings and case digests to finish within this week.
The café was quite full of students, but I managed to find a seat where I can peacefully study. I ordered my favorite drink and pastries in their café, and waited for my order in my seat.
I was reading the fourth case given to our block when my order was served. I thanked the waiter before focusing on my iPad again.
I still have to make some minor changes to my essay, so my laptop was opened to continue writing it after my readings.
I took a sip of my matcha latte as I finished reading the case given to us. I closed my iPad for the meantime, then I continued writing my essay. My gaze turned to the person who stopped at my table.
“Hello. There’s no available seat. Would you mind if I sit here? I won’t stay long.”
I roamed my gaze around, and there’s really no available seat at this time. I looked back at him and smiled as I nodded my head.
“Thank you. I’m Forrest, by the way.”
He offered his hand for a handshake, which I gladly accepted with a smile on my face.
