Blaze and Thorn stumbled onward through the white void, their hearts heavy with grief. As they walked, the surroundings slowly shifted, the whiteness giving way to an endless expanse of black.
Then, they saw a familiar figure in the distance. It was Halilintar, standing as if waiting for them. The sight of him brought a small measure of relief and hope to Blaze and Thorn.
Blaze: "Hali! Thank goodness we found you!"
Thorn: "We... we have something to tell you. It's... it's about Ice..."
Halilintar's expression changed from relief to concern as he noticed the somber tone of Blaze and Thorn's voices. He could sense something was amiss.
Halilintar: "you two look shaken... what's going on? What happened to Ice?"
Blaze took a deep breath, his voice unsteady as he spoke. Remembering what happened still stung like an open wound.
Blaze: "It's... it's really bad, Hali. We... we lost him. Ice..."
He struggled to continue, the memory of Ice's final moments too painful to verbalize.
Halilintar's expression darkened as he heard Blaze's words. He could sense the gravity of the situation, and the news that Ice was gone shook him to the core.
Halilintar: "What do you mean you lost him? What happened?"
His voice was firm but tinged with a hint of desperation, a need to know the details of what had befallen their elemental comrade.
Blaze swallowed hard, trying to compose himself enough to explain. The memory of the events was still fresh and raw in his mind, and recounting them was like reopening a wound that had barely begun to scar.
Blaze: "We... we were attacked. By some sort of myself reflection.. He trapped Ice in a fire ball and..."
He struggled to continue, his voice breaking with the memory. The image of Ice being trapped in the fire ball was still seared into his mind, and the sense of helplessness he had felt in that moment was crushing.
Blaze: "We tried to save him, but by the time we got him free, it was... it was too late. He... he was already..."
Thorn interjected with a heavy heart, his own voice strained and emotional.*
Thorn: "He was already fading. We... we couldn't do anything to stop it. His body just... it just..."
Tears welled up in Thorn's eyes as he spoke, the memory of Ice's transformation into shimmering ice particles still fresh in his mind. The image was one they would never forget.
Thorn: "His body just... just turned into ice sparkles and faded away, right in front of us."
Halilintar's stoic expression broke at the news of Ice's fate. The shock was evident on his face, his usual stoic veneer crumbling for a moment as he digested the painful truth.
Halilintar: "I... I can't believe it. Ice... he's really gone?"
His voice was rough with emotion, a mixture of grief and disbelief. He placed a hand on Blaze's shoulder, a gesture of comfort and solidarity.
Halilintar struggled with the grief himself. He had known Ice for a long time, and the loss was a blow that left him reeling. Despite his outward stoicism, he was deeply affected by the news.
Halilintar: "I... I don't know what to say. This is... this is just so sudden..."
Halilintar's expression hardened as he regained his composure, a steely determination in his eyes.
