I want him
He wants me
We wanted each other
But-
It was the middle of the school year for Cassia in 1990. She was about to graduate and she had never felt closer to freedom. Her whole life she wanted to fit in and have a normal highschool experience but she never quite fit in. And by the time she turned 18 a ringing in her ears made it impossible to do anything.
No one could understand her problem. Doctors said she was fine, her parents had no clue what to do besides get her noise cancelling headphones. None of the headphones worked and now she had a closest filled with different brands of shit to help her.
Everyone thought she was crazy. It didn't help when the noise would get bad and she would try and hit her head to stop it. She honestly thought maybe she was just crazy.
She grabbed her comfort headphones and made her journey to school. While the noise never stopped, the headphones helped not overstimulate her brain. The only other thing that helped was complete silence and meditating. A lot of days she'd spend hours laid on her bedroom floor as she hummed and closed her eyes.
Cassia made it to her first class but it didn't take long before she had to deal with the students.
"Hey freak." The guy smiled at her as he slammed his hand on her desk.
Cassia rolled her eyes and looked up at the blonde boy. He was handsome for sure but he had an ugly personality and was one of her worst bullies. "Dick." She muttered.
"At least I'm not a freak." He spit at her. "You figured out what's wrong with you yet?"
"You are." She grumbled, holding her headphones to her ears, the sound getting louder in her head.
"Mr. Davis please be quiet. The class doesn't need to her you're senselessness."
The guy humphed to himself and rolled his eyes. "You're only saying that cause you're a teacher. She's a freak! Always hitting herself." He looks back at Cassia. He quickly took her headphones off and snapped them. For some reason he had had enough of her oddities and wanted to really mess with her that day.
She gasped and reached for them but he held them away. She clenched her head and squeezed her eyes shut. "Stop it!"
"Freak! You going to hit yourself now freak?"
"Mr. Davis!" The teacher yelled.
"Stop!" Cassia yelled again, the buzzing sound drowning out almost every sound around her.
"Poor little Cass! Cant even be normal for a moment. Freak!"
"Stop!" She slammed her hands down on her desk as she cried to herself.
The sound disappeared only replaced by her crying.
Slowly, she opened her eyes and covered her mouth in a gasp as she looked around her.
Surrounded by slumped bodies she noticed blood coming out of everyone's ears, eyes, and mouths. A few of the people sat around her were pushed back and the classroom was in a sort of disarray.
Cassia started hyperventilating as she realized no one was moving. She touched Henry Davis' neck and checked his pulse. A cry left her mouth as she felt nothing there.
He was dead.
She scrambled out of her seat and clumsily fell out the window of her classroom. She shook like a leaf, pulling herself up and running away.
Everything was left behind as she ran into the nearby woods. She didn't know where she was going, she had no clue about anything. She just had to get out of there and she couldn't go back home.
Welcome to Reverie.I hope you enjoy as I try to give her her own story. And while it will coincide with the x-men movies, timelines will be moved slightly and some things will be altered.
