News had broke of the Lady Laena Velaryon's passing. She had passed in the night by her own dragon's flames. Her mount, Vhagar, the Queen of Dragons had been instructed to burn Lady Laena alive. The loss of her child drove her to become desperate.

The families gathered in Driftmark and the ceremony soon began. Laena's remains were placed in a stone casket with a carving of her on the top of it. It was a traditional Velaryon funeral, one practiced for ages.

Rhaelle and her siblings stood by their parents, they were dressed in green, contrary to the others, who wore the traditional black. Rhaelle stood beside Helaena and they stared ahead while Vaemond Velaryon spoke in their native tongue.

The guards began tying rope around the casket.

"We join today at the Seat of the Sea to commit the Lady Laena of House Velaryon to the eternal waters, the dominion of the Merling King where He will guard her for all the days to come."

Vaemond turned to Laena's daughters, Baela and Rhaena. Baela was cradled in Princess Rhaenys Targaryen's arms while Rhaena stood at her side. "As she sets to seas for her final voyage, the Lady Laena leaves two true-born daughters on the shore. Though their mother will not return from her voyage, they will all remain bound together in blood."

Rhaelle sees that Vaemond turns and his eyes lock on Rhaenyra, she doesn't look back at him. "Salt courses through Velaryon blood. Ours run thick. Ours runs true."

Rhaelle sees that Rhaenyra locks eyes with her uncle, Daemon. It seems that the King notices this as well as he turns to his daughter.

"And ours must never thin." Finished Vaemond. Rhaelle's high Valyrian lessons had been helpful while listening to Vaemond's speech. She knew that Vaemond was indirectly insulting Rhaenyra and her children.

Suddenly, Daemon, the Rogue Prince, actually laughed. He laughed at his own wife's funeral. Everyone looks at him, shocked. Rhaelle looked down at the stone beneath her feet.

The guard began slowly pushing Laena's casket down the cliff. "My gentle niece. May the winds be strong as your back, your seas as calm as your spirit, and your nets be as full as your heart."

"From the sea we came. To the sea we shall return." Rhaelle watched sorrowfully at the casket as it started to ascend down into the water.

As people said their final goodbyes to Lady Laena, others broke into groups.

Rhaelle stood with Jacaerys on the edge of the wall, overlooking the sea. They stood in silence, Rhaelle knew Jacaerys was grieving in his own right.

Rhaelle knew her mother was watching her. She disliked when Rhaelle would fraternize with the sons of Princess Rhaenyra, but, it wasn't the time nor place to scold her youngest about it.
