Not so Human anymore (Jurassic World)(Owen Grady)

Chapter 8: Fight me

Aspen turned toward the king of the Jurassic world in awe. 

The T-Rex let out a earth-quaking roar, and rammed the Indominus, reminding everyone why he is-was-and always will be- the king. 

Next thing they knew, each raptor was down, and Blue was up, and so was Aspen. 

Blue and Aspen briefly nodded to each other, and lunged onto the Indominus, pulling on her scales and distracting her from her fight with the T-rex. The Indominus would go to bite a raptor and the T-rex would clamp his jaws down on her neck.  Then the raptors would claw down the Indominus' spine, and she would try to shake the T-rex off, and try to shake the raptors off at the same time.

The Indominus whipped around and had the T-rex's throat. Blue and Aspen clawed at her eyes, trying to draw her off, but the Indominus was smart, she rammed her left side into the building and Aspen fell to the ground with a shriek of pain, luckily while the Indominus was distracted  Blue landed a painful hit on her pupil. 

The Indominus screamed, roaring her haunting song into the starless sky. 

The T-rex pushed her toward the edge of the Mosasaurus cage. The raptors jumped off, and the Indominus started to charge at the T-rex, when the Mosasaurus jumped out of the water, and clamped it's jaws down on the Indominus Rex's body. 

The Indominus let out a shriek of full-blown terror and was still alive when the Mosasaurus dragged her under the water. 

Owen abruptly shouted,"Asta la vista Experiment 666!"

The humans slowly got out of the booth and the T-rex eyed Blue and Aspen, almost as if it was saying 'thanks' 

and strode off.

That was when someone actually realized what just happened.

That someone, to be specific, was Owen.

Owen walked up to each slowly fading raptor, and touched it's neck or head again.  Saying a quiet

"good girl" and "i'll miss you" and "raise a little hell for me, okay?" along with "thank you." 

When he got to Blue, Blue chirped and walked to Owen, sniffing him over and pushing his head side to side slowly.

Owen smiled. 

"You take care too, Blue." and he repeated to her what he'd said to the others, slowly. 

"You were the best, little beta I could've asked for." He told her.

It didn't matter if she couldn't respond or even if she knew what he was saying, but it seemed like she got the message because she breathed on him and wagged her tail slowly. 

as if she said

"you were the best human. I'm glad I didn't eat you." 

Which she probably was thinking. 

With that thought Owen smiled. 

But Owen's heart broke when he realized she didn't understand that the other members of the squad were dead. She started to call out for them as she trotted away. 

Blue perhaps thought

"See you later Owen. 

And next time,

Bring some rats. 

Okay?"

but Owen shrugged, and reminded himself to go find her later and say goodbye. 

But he kind of already did.

oh shut up.

He growled to his thoughts, quietly.

Claire was probably thinking he was crazy. 

Owen motioned he'd be there in a minute and Claire started walking Zach and Gray toward the resort where everyone was.

"wait where'd Aspen run off to." He said aloud to himself.

"Oh god... no..."  He muttered as he slid to the side of a crumbled wall and saw some black raptor quills  protruding from the building, and noticed a figure laying down under a canopy that was fallen from the wreaked building. 

"Aspen.." he grumbled as he tore away the cloth. 

"Hi...Owen... you look like you got mauled." Aspen said softly. 

"You really look like you got mauled." He said gently back, picking her up. 

"Hey you cant use that I already did." She threw back, weakly. 

"You've been hanging around Lowery too long." 

"I've been hanging around you too long." 

"fair point."

"you bet it is, mister."

"well your highness shush so you dont go into a coma"

"Royal pain"

"to  you as well milady"

"oh hush peasant." She attempted to say, fumbling with words.

Owen noticed the back of his hands and arms where he was holding her were both covered in red or smeared with pink. 

"Aspen..!" He growled as he rushed toward the resort. 

"Claire!" He yell-whispered as he jog-walked through the forest-path. 

"Owen?" He finally heard a response, however he failed to realise it was a shriek of terror.

"Oh thank god, Claire." He sighed. 

"Not Claire." He stumbled backwards, seeing an In-gen operative and Claire slamming on the windows in the back of the mobile vet unit.

"Well no, I'm not, we got her. And those kids, the small one is annoying. Wait, why am I telling you all this?" The person pointed their stun-gun at Owen. 

Aspen, somehow, magically sensing danger and apparently thinking it's a good time as ever to use up the remaining amounts of her energy, or perhaps supposing she'd rather be stunned and have a way out then just be stunned, but through whatever thought process she cam about this she smacked Owen's hand and lunged at the dart in a matter of seconds, breifly switching to raptor form to absorb the impact and then likely having not had gotten that far into her plan yet, just blown her-and Owen's- cover as being absoloutely normal. 

yay us.

Owen thought sarcastically, picking up Aspen-whom changed back to humane form- and however much he wanted to run, attempted to take down the In-gen gaurd, but, failed and took a dart to the side.
