Part 6 (Sophie's POV)

I was just pacing in my room as I think about my past life decisions, when Edaline walked into my room.

"Hey, Mom." I say.

"Hey Sophie. You're... pacing. Is everything ok?" Edaline asked.

"Yeah. I'm just replaying my life. After everything I've been through, I keep waiting for something to jump out at me that we have to fight. And when nothing does, I feel nothing but longing for something dangerous." I explained.

Edaline just looked at me with some concern.

I smiled and said, "I know what your going to say, 'Be careful what you wish for Sophie. I don't want to lose you, too.'. But that's just how I feel. I've always known I was weird. With my eyes and all. I've always done weird and extremely dangerous things. And now I have no danger, and I am going to do something normal and marry Keefe. Something just seems off, that's all."

"I think I understand. If it helps, I can see if the Council will let Lady Gisela go?" Edaline asked.

"NO! Mom!" I exclaimed.

"I'm joking." Edaline laughed. "Do you still have that Charm Bracelet me and Grady gave you a few years ago?"

I nod and walked over to my desk and pull out a box filled with all the "jewelry" I have gotten over the years. All the necklaces from Elwin (you know, the ones filled with 'Limbium free' Elixirs), The Black Swan, Fitz, Biana. including the charms I got from my parents. And the Black Swan Monocle and pendant. Who knew there were so many memories from my past?

I got out the charm bracelet and brought it over to Edaline.

"I got you another charm to add." Edaline said as she pulled out a heart locket. She opened it and and it showed one side a picture of Grady and Edaline hugging me.

The other side showed a picture of my other family. With Amy, and my human parents. My eyes started to water as I looked.

"Edal... Mom, how did you get a picture of my human family?" I asked, sounding curious, but overjoyed as well.

"Magicians never reveal their secrets" Edaline laughed. I rolled my eyes, shut the locket, and put it on with the rest of my charms.

Then I hugged her. "Thank you Mom."

Hey readers. Sorry I haven't written in so long. Like literally feels like a year since I last wrote even tho it hasn't. But still. Stuff happened and I just never got around to writing again. Until now! I shall try to be more consistent. As I'm sure you know this story isn't finished yet. So... yeah. Gotta continue writing. 👋
