2:00 am

Kai is staring through the window. The night sky is clear and it is full of stars.

"School starts again tomorrow or today...huh... Why does summer break pass so fast..." Kai is thinking to himself. He let out a big sigh.

He himself isn't sure why he can't sleep. He isn't exactly fond of going to school. Is he waiting for his brother subconsciously?

His house is quiet. Too quiet. He can even hear the wind passing in the corridor.

He lies down on the bed. Listening to the sound of the wind and the cars which are occasionally passing by the road by his house. He hears the main door of his house opening followed by loud footsteps.

"Kian must be home now. Should I go and say hi? Most prolly he would scold me for staying up this late or maybe not. Who cares. I'll go and say hi." Kai's thinking to himself while getting up from the bed.

He idly walked up to his room's door. But the door must have had a grudge on him. It slung open and hit his nose. The one who opened the door was his older brother, Kian.

"You've school tomorrow... Right?" Kian is asking with a neutral face.

"Umm... Yes and sorry for staying up late" Kai replies.

Kian is not so bothered by the second part.

"Do I need to drop you off at school? If so don't be late I've an important meeting tomorrow."

"That'll be great. Thanks brotha."

Then two of them kind of stare at each other's faces very awkwardly.

"Is there anything else you want to tell me Kian?"

"No."
"You've got blood dripping from your nose. Sorry it might be because I slung open the door. Help yourself with an icepack." Kian tells before closing the door and walking away.

"Not even a 'are you okay?' huh?" Kai scoffs while telling himself in a low voice.

He kinda then deals with his nose bleed and creeps to his bed.

No sign of sleep is coming. He is now busy staring at the ceiling.

He doesn't get why every time he stares at the ceiling he feels the sudden emptiness in his chest. He remembers when he was 7 / 8 the summer breaks he passed was nothing like now. He used to go to many places, do many things on the summer breaks. But this year he was just either sleeping in his bed or eating. Why isn't his brother the way he was? How did his life take this big turn? Could it be because of that summer?

Many other possibilities are rushing through his head.

He falls asleep at some point.

*Alarm ringing*

Kai sleepily turns it off and prepares himself for what has to come.

He looks through his wardrobe. There are many clothes but still it doesn't feel right. His mom always used to pick / buy his dresses for the first class after the summer. Now there is none.

While he was scanning his wardrobe a strange bag caught his eyes. It wasn't there before.

After opening it he found some new clothes, a perfect fit for him. A white t-shirt, black cargo pant and a sky blue shirt. He knows who gave him these. He feels a little happy thinking the bag was given by his brother.

He quickly gets dressed and leaves his room with his backpack.

He goes to the dining room. As usual there was none but the house butler, Sebastian.

"What would young master would like to have for breakfast today?" Sebastian asks with a warm smile.

"Can I get some pancakes and iced coffee please and thank you" Kai answers.

"It'll be prepared right away young master"

*15 minutes later*

Sebastian while serving the food tells, "Is it good enough young master?"

"Yes."followed by silence Kai tells "where's Kian?"

"Oh master Kian? He said he would like to have breakfast at his room today. He has been busy lately"

"Oh... ... ... Btw do you know who put a bag there in my room? Mainly who gave me the bag?"

"Oh well I am afraid I don't know as of who gave you the bag. I was ordered to put it there. I think maybe it's a gift from the company your brother is working with."

"oh."
"Is there any chance it's from my brother?"

"I fear not."

Kian enters the dining area.

"Are you done eating, Kai?" Kian asks.

Kai is feeling a bit sad knowing that it wasn't from his brother. "Yes ig" Kai replies.

"But young master you still have foods left to eat." Sebastian obliges.

"I lost my appetite"

Kian isn't interested in these little chit chats so he just walks away from the dining area. Kai has no other choice but to follow him.

The two brother then hops in the car. Kian is driving.

Sebastian has nothing to do but witness all this.
