Many people may say that smiling as a cruise ship sank with hundreds of men, women, and children on board may be cruel and inhuman.
He didn't care
And why would he, him the great Poseidon god of the seas, the mighty earth shaker, the father of horses, a god does not deal in mortal opinions
His smile grew wider as he made another gigantic wave crash down in a cruise ship killing who knows how many more and making thousands more mortals suffer.
Before Poseidon could sink another ship that dared to sail in his waters a letter appeared in front of him landing on his lap a golden lightning bolt imprinted on the wax keeping it closed.
He was honestly surprised not by the letter no, he expected to have one as soon as the first ship sank. He was surprised that it took his brother this long to do something to stop him, he would have sworn Hades would have complained to their youngest brother to do something about the sudden influx of souls down in his realm.
'must have been convinced by someone else probably Hestia' Poseidon thought as he methodically rubbed the letter
"Three weeks before they decide to do something? It shouldn't be such a surprise my dear husband" Poseidon looked up and stared at his wife Amphitrite as she chuckled no sign of humor or the lively glow of life in her mocha-dark eyes. She turned back and stared out into the dark courtyard where the sea life usually was more lively but not today maybe never again.
"What do you mean Amphitrite?" He tilted his head slightly to the left in confusion, noticing with a pang of sorrow that she was wearing a blue dress with a sea green netting instead of her usual gold one in her hair.
"They acted too late to save our son"
Poseidon furrowed his brow even more in confusion. 'Triton is fine why would she...oh'
Amphitrie looked over at her husband and couldn't help the small smile and the chuckle escape her "like father, like son I suppose Perseus may not have come from my womb but he was my son as much as Sally Jacksons"
Despite Poseidon's best efforts he couldn't help the bitter smile that graces his face. He had always hoped that his wife and son would get along with Percy and be a big happy family. Though the way Triton acted and how Amphitrie usually sided with Triton that dream seemed to be an impossible one.
Though like many things he realized a little too late that he already had his family. Triton decided to pick up sword fighting and has planned on talking with Tyson, his cyclops brother, in building a memorial for Percy. Amphitrie has been wearing either sea green or blue dresses or even a combination of both a tribute she told him once to a true hero.
Then there was Sally and Paul, Poseidon admits he hasn't gone to visit them to busy running his grieving Kingdom at least that's what he tells himself.
'Admit it you can't face her, not after everything' he shook his head. He isn't avoiding Sally. Nope he's just busy he will go later today after the meeting on Olympus. He ignored the small voice that was telling him he was stalling
"They probably decided to do something since I took all the water from camp halfblood" he chuckled as he stood up from his throne
"Oh good I thought it was the call of the sea I sent through a few days ago" Poseidon quickly turned to her a look of awe and sadness
