The city of Ciol, located on the continent of Addikus built close to the edge of the continent line of Gaolyn, was revered in its time for its scholars and soldiers and many dreamed of venturing out to the city to attain knowledge of the city's vast array of knowledge. Many who ventured out had learned of the secrets, but none had truly mastered their knowledge like the ones in the city and were curious as to what they were doing wrong compared to the royals and knights who have mastered the crafts. There are still very few who have learned and mastered the Zestras' array of knowledge and can use it as effectively as the Zestra family and royal guards.
The schools and barracks were created by the Zestras to teach any and all who were aspiring to learn and master the teachings they learned long ago. Magic was also introduced in the barracks, and wizard classes began to form as a result. Many only learn one category of magic before leaving the schools to train and master it on their own or with other masters, and some even cross train in other categories to combine the magics together, to create stronger versions of magic spells. The Zestra family had lots of multi category mages, and few are still alive to this day due to the war against Gaolyn and Celpaq many years ago. The war ended after 200 years, but nothing was ever the same for the Zestra family.
The family had split up due to many conflicts after the war, and most had stayed within Ciol, while some had ventured out to other cities and towns around the continent. Many who had left were never heard from again, but one family, who still carried the Zestra name, lived in Zestrika, a small town built by the Zestras for the mines close-by and stationed a training camp there with Armin and Lilia as the Commanders in the town. They had a son named Cain and they kept him mostly away from the camps and the Zestra name secret from the royal family, but still trained him to give him the survival skills he will need one day.
After many years of peace and the conflict of the Zestra family fading out to obscurity, disaster struck the many towns and cities of Addikus. A mysterious creature, said to be possessing unimaginable power, began a destructive path all around the continent, and many believed that the creature came from the nearby continent of Celpaq, a ravenous continent full of mysterious creatures and believed to be void of any other human life, while others believed it to be a retelling of an old legend. Many cities were attacked and almost destroyed, such as Steli and Ciol, but few were destroyed, leaving rubble and bodies strewn about. This tale begins in Zestrika, a day before the destruction of the town.
