All Jordan's mind could think about the entire time was just that incident. She couldn't exactly understand why she wasn't scared in the moment, almost everyone had disappeared from the entire neighborhood. I guess she didn't understand it until she overhearing the conversation between the police and her uncle. They had absolutely no leads or clues to where her parents went. They didn't know where anyone's parents went.
And now she was in highschool. All of her friends from the neighborhood were either adopted into other families or started living with close relatives. Jordan ended up having to move with her uncle and Tyler went to go stay with his aunt. Fortunately most of the kids from the neighborhood all lived nearby so they all eventually became friends with each other. It wasn't a surprise to become friends with people you lived through a traumatic experience with, right?
And now she was here, in her room in the attic of her uncles room on her phone. "Jordan! Get down here! I want you to meet my friend!" Her uncle yelled from downstairs. And holy smokes was he loud. "Coming!" Jordan yelled back, shutting off her phone screen and making her way off her bed. It was an intense moment, she had to roll off her bed and onto the ground, and then open then walk down the stairs to the 2nd floor. And then she had to walk downstairs to the 1st floor. It was painful, and it was 9 in the morning without coffee.
Jordan made her way downstairs with a yawn, the floorboards creaking under her feet from every step. "Yeah, I'm here!" She spoke as she make her way into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee for her daily dose of caffeine. As she waited for the coffee to brew in the coffee maker, she turned around to her uncle. "So who's the guy you want me to me-" She stopped herself from speaking as she stared at the person next to her uncle.
How was her uncle friends with the girl? She looked her age, which was odd. Not to mention, albino? She was way too pretty to be friends with her uncle, there was no way. The lady she stared at looked up from her phone and smiled softly at Jordan with a chuckle. "Aw~! This is your niece? She's adorable! Jordan was it?" She spoke in a high pitched voice as she came up to Jordan. "Hi! I'm your uncle's friend, Estella Yelena Zuri Rosemary Regina Le Beau!"
What the hell?
"Uh...Estella Ye- what..?" Jordan questioned with a confused expression. "Ah, Estell is fine, darling. Or Estella. Miss Le Beau also works, but you're John's niece so that would be too formal. You can call me anything, sweetheart!" Estella spoke. Yup. Definitely an overly sweet rich person. She couldn't really say anything, she used to be pretty wealthy herself when she was younger. But the question still stood in Jordan's mind, how the hell did her uncle become friends with her? "Oh.." Jordan coughed before grabbing the full coffee mug from the coffee maker and heading to the dining table to drink it. "Nice to meet you."
Estella looked at Jordan in a slight disgust, her eyes darting from her coffee cup to her mouth as Jordan sipped on it. "Ah...you're gonna drink that just black..? No creamer or anything..?" Estella let out a worried chuckle. "Yeah...I don't really like creamer. It's too sweet." Jordan answered back, which was met with a loud gasp form Estella. She quickly covered her mouth before letting out an awkwardly chuckle and backing up towards Jordan's uncle.
"I just need a word with your uncle, mkay sweetheart?" Estella smiled as she pulled her uncle into the living room. Not long after she could hear angry whispers from the both of them. Jordan just sighed at the sound of her uncle arguing with the lady she had just met, also sounding like this was a normal conversation between the two. She sipped on her coffee as she pulled out her phone, and right on time to see that Tyler was calling her.
She answered the call and spoke into the phone. "Yo." "Hey, Jordan." Tyler answered back, his deep and grown voice making it sound like he had just woken up from his sleep. "Wanna hang out with us? Me, Greg, Tristan, and Cali I mean." Jordan furrowed her eyes and scrunched her nose as she thought, contemplating her choices. "I'll...ask my uncle." She simply said, Tyler chuckling on the other end of the line. "You still ask your uncle to go out? Why not just meet us at the gas station?"
