Isla and Tommy were in the car eating food when he comes to a stop infront of the gym. "Why are we here?" Isla asks looking at the place as she eats a fry. "To pick up something" Tommy responds when suddenly a guy appears infront of the door on her side. Tommy rolls down his window which makes the guy bend down to see Tommy. "Get in the back" Tommy says as Julio nods and opens the back door getting in. He then gives Tommy a bag that has little packages in there making Tommy zip the bag, smirk and began to start the car again.

James gazes out at the city , lost in thought as he pulls out his phone. After a brief moment, he dials, his heart racing just a little.
"Hello?" Angela answers politely, her tone business-like.
"Angela," James says, a smile spreading across his face as her name rolls off his tongue."Jamie?" Angela's voice softens, a hint of surprise evident. "You surprised I called?" James teases. "I told you I wasn't gonna let you get away again, and I meant it. Come have lunch with me," he offers, as Angela sighs, the weight of her day pressing on her. "I can't, Jamie. I have a presentation in front of my whole office today," she explains, her tone apologetic.
"Yeah, and if I know you, you've been studying on that shit for weeks," James counters with a light laugh, knowing her too well.
Angela can't help but smile, a soft chuckle escaping her. "You know me too well."
"Come on, girl. You gotta eat," James persists, hoping to tempt her.
"Where?"
...
"New York's so different now. City bikes, no cars in Times Square, and white people living uptown," Angela quips, taking a bite of her lunch. They both laugh, sharing a knowing look. "You've been gone a minute," James says, his gaze lingering on her. Angela smiles softly. "You finally got your nightclub. Your dad would've been proud." Her words catch James off guard, a hint of surprise flickering in his eyes.
"I told you about my father's nightclub? He lost the place before we met. I didn't even remember telling you that," James admits, still processing the memory. "Yeah, we told each other everything back then," Angela replies, her hand gently resting on his. James hums thoughtfully, a mix of nostalgia and something unspoken hanging between them. "The last time we had lunch, I'm pretty sure there were no linen tablecloths," Angela jokes, glancing around the upscale restaurant.
"And I don't think we had chairs," James adds with a chuckle. "We grabbed a slice at the counter at Ray's on Sutphin," James reminisces, a smile tugging at his lips. "You kept refilling your Coke, and the manager was giving you that evil-ass look. But you just kept going," Angela says laughing making James smile. "The sign said 'free refills,'" James defends, laughing along with her.
"I was trying to get you to stay longer," James confesses, his eyes sweeping over her with a mix of affection and regret. "I almost missed my train," Angela recalls. "That was the idea," James admits, his voice tinged with sadness as he looks down at his plate. Angela shifts uncomfortably, guilt flickering across her face. "Choate was the opportunity of a lifetime, but that doesn't mean it was easy to go. Jamie, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left the way I did," she says softly, reaching out to touch his arm.
"Your parents made you go," James shrugs, trying to brush it off. "But I didn't fight them," Angela replies, her voice heavy with regret. "You said you'd be back for Christmas," James points out, his eyes searching hers for answers to questions long buried. Angela sighs deeply, feeling the sting of old wounds. "My family moved to Sunnyside after I left."
"I had the same number. But you were just... gone. And then when my pops died, I thought, at least then, you would reach out," James says as angela's expression softens. "I should've been there for you. But I just knew that if I called, if I heard your voice, I would go back. I would've dropped everything for you—everything my parents worked for, everything I'd worked for. So I made a choice," she explains, her voice cracking slightly. James nods, understanding but still carrying the weight of what could've been. "I wouldn't have asked you to come back. You didn't belong in the hood," he says, gently taking her hand and rubbing it tenderly.
"Neither did you," Angela responds quickly, squeezing his hand. "But now we're both out, just like we always planned."
"Not exactly how we planned," James murmurs, his thumb still brushing against her hand. Angela glances down at the touch, the intimacy lingering, when suddenly her phone buzzes.
"Oh, shit." Angela says looking at her phone as she gets up. "What?" James asks confused. "I gotta go." Angela says putting her fork down and picking up her purse and jacket. "Now?" James questions. "I need to get back to the office," she explains quickly, leaning in to give him a brief, tight hug. As they embrace, James wraps his arms around her waist, holding on just a little longer than necessary. "All right." James says as they pull back. "Thanks for lunch." Angela says as she gives him a kiss on the cheek. "Mm-hmm." James hums in response he continues to hold her.
"When can we do this again?" he questions as he lets go of her. "I'll let you know," Angela responds, her voice trailing off as she turns and strides out of the restaurant, leaving James staring after herz
..."When are we actually gonna do something?" Isla asks as Tommy turns to her. "Why you in a rush?" He questions as she shakes her head. "Hell yeah I have a job I know you don't know how that feels but yeah... I have a life" isla says back. "Always saying some smart shit" Tommy says shaking his head. "Comes naturally" Isla says giving a smirk and making him chuckle. "I am still here you know" Julio says making the two of them look at eachother.
"I forgot I need to drop this motha fucka off" Tommy mumbles making isla chuckle.
....
Isla watches the cars blur by, her thoughts wandering as Tommy drives in silence. A few minutes later, Tommy pulls up to a building, and Isla glances around, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings with a mix of curiosity and unease. She steps out of the car, eyeing the building with confusion, but follows Tommy inside without a word.
Inside, a man is hastily stuffing something into a bag from his safe. Tommy steps forward, his presence commanding immediate attention. "Don't fill out the total," Tommy instructs, catching the man off guard.
"Why not?" the man, Josh, asks, turning around with a puzzled expression. "I'm gonna confirm your count at the bank. I'll take that," Tommy says firmly, holding out his hand. Josh hesitates for a moment before handing over the bag. "Every club I've ever managed, I always do the deposit," Josh explains, trying to sound confident but faltering under Tommy's intense gaze.
"There's a first time for everything. Deposit slip," Tommy demands. Josh grabs the slip from the counter and hands it over, his movements tense. "I already signed it. Want a fresh one?" Josh asks nervously. "Nah, I'm sure yours will turn out fine," Tommy replies, dismissively glancing at the slip. "Look, we hired you for your contacts, not your reputation." He places a hand on Isla's shoulder, guiding her as they turn to leave.
Josh, still unsettled, follows them a few steps. "Hey, about that... the boss never told me how you found out about that," he says, his curiosity getting the better of him.
Tommy stops abruptly, turning to face Josh with a menacing stare. "None of your fucking business how we know. As long as you work for us, this is how it goes. We don't have a problem, do we?" Tommy's voice is low and threatening.
Josh swallows hard, the fear creeping into his voice. "No, we don't."
Tommy smirks, the hint of a chuckle escaping him. "Was just about to send out a search party for you," he says sarcastically as he and Isla head back to the car. They climb in, Tommy's smirk lingering as he starts the engine, the tension of the encounter still hanging in the air. Isla gives him a look and then rolls her eyes with a smile.
