Lani in the mm
Alani.
I woke up to the smell of breakfast cooking in the kitchen. I looked at my alarm clock and it said 10:13. I sat up in my king size bed and pushed my hair out of my face. I walked to my bathroom, took a shower and brushed my teeth. I walked into my closet and got my clothes ready for work. I work at IHOP and I loved it, but I plan on doing bigger things. Since I'm only 21, I decided that when I have enough money saved up, Ill move out of my bestfriend David's house and I'll get my own apartment or something. Until then I'm stuck in his house. Don't get me wrong, I like living here but I really want my own place.
After I finished getting dressed, it was 11:00. I had a hour before I had to be at work. I walked downstairs, the smell of breakfast still strong, and walked into the kitchen.
"Morning beautiful, how did you sleep?" He said looking over at me.
"What did I tell you about allat sweet talking?" I said blushing "And I slept fine, thanks." I said fixing my plate.
"Well excuse me for trying to be nice." He said smiling putting his hands up in surrender.
"There are many other ways to be nice. You should try them sometimes." I said taking a bite out of my bacon.
"My bad ma, I ain't even mean it like that. Just trying to start a conversation." He said smirking.
"Nah, you good. But I should really get going, I have to go to work." I said grabbing my keys and my purse, heading out the door.
"Alright ma, see ya later." He said as I closed the door.
I walked to my car and took a big whiff of the Atlanta air. It is really hot here in the beginning of July.
As I drove to work, I got a text from my ex. That just messed up the positive vibe thing I had going on.
Text Convo
Jayden: Hey baby, um I know we're not on good terms right now, I just wanted to know if we could talk? Maybe over lunch?
Lani: First of all, don't call me baby because that ship sailed a long time ago. Second, no we can't talk because I have absolutely nothing to say to you.
