Near the end of the first century of Targaryen rule, the kingdom was at the height of its powers under King Jaehaerys I. Peace and prosperity have persevered for decades. The Targaryens commanded 10 adult dragons, giving them an edge over any army. King Jaehaerys I found himself in ill health and in need of an heir. He had no heirs. Both of his sons had died. To find a suitable heir, he assembled the Great Council of Harrenhal. Fourteen succession claims were heard, but only two were considered.

The Council found Rhaenys Targaryen, Jaehaerys' eldest descendant, had the strongest blood claim to the throne. Second was Viserys Targaryen, the next eldest. The Council ruled that the kingdom could not pass to a woman, nor through a woman to her male descendants, so Viserys my brother, was named the next King of Westeros.

Aevon stood close in front of Haehra, her arms wrapped around her son's shoulders in an attempt to comfort him. Haehra listened quietly as Vaemond spoke for his Niece, who was now at peace, silently resting inside a beautifully carved stone coffin.

Haehra noticed Vaemond staring at her older brother Daemon with a sharp glare. She moved her eyes to him, who was looking towards the waves, not giving Vaemond the satisfaction of his attention.

Aevon was still new to the Valyrian language, he could only understand a limited amount of words, but he could tell by the tone of Vaemond's voice, the disgusted look on his face and the way he spat his words when he looked at his cousin Rhaenyra, he was insulting the legitimacy of her children once again.
Daemon chuckled in amusement of the situation, drawing everyone's eyes over to him.
Perhaps that was his plan, Haehra wondered, was he trying to get the attention off of Rhaenyra?

In any matter, Vaemond scowled at Daemon before continuing his speech. At the same time, the few select soldiers heaved at the ropes connected to Laena's coffin, dragging it across the cobble deck and towards the edge.
As Vaemond finished his speech, her coffin fell to the sea, sinking beneath the tides.

After the Laena was returned to the sea, she sent her son to offer comfort to her brother's daughter as they just lost their mother. Haehra watched her son as he began to comfort the girls but it was not long before Baela leaped into the Aevon's arms seeking more comfort.

She watched her dragon silently, enjoying the sight of her prancing around in the air with the other dragons. Helhiem was claimed by Haehra when she was only just a small babe, no one knows where the she beast come from all they knew was that she was as old or older then Vaghar.

Most people feared her dragon, if not for her great size and unknown origin, it was for her name she was named after one of the gods her husband Ragnar followed, gods that she now believes in as well. Helhiem is named after the goddess of death. Hel was one of the children of the trickster god Loki, and her kingdom was said to lie downward and northward.

That brought fear to those who followed the faith of the seven, that included Alicent Hightower.
