"You look like shit, man."
I rolled my eyes at Luke who was standing infront of me with a frown but I didn't miss the twitch in his lips. Ignoring my annoying friend, I step inside my in-suite washroom. I had a cut on my jaw and my nose was bleeding. I didn't thought that motherfucker still had it in him but looks like he still got some solid punches.
Cursing under my breath, I cleaned off the blood with the wet towel inspecting the cut which wasn't that deep, thankfully. To be honest, I was expecting such reaction from him. I knew he'd be pissed to see me after all these years.
But, the question is did he reacted like this because of our past? Or the fact that I was with his wife?
I taste something bitter on my tongue remembering how things changed so quickly.
When I found that Bella was the daughter of my father's enemy I thought maybe this could work. My feelings for her didn't changed even a slightest but then I got another shock that she's my half fucking sister. But, still I saw a possibility.
And If this wasn't enough I found out that she's my bestfriend's wife. The guy who's like a brother to me. That's where the line drew.
You can have any girl you want but not your bestfriend's. We made a pact.
In school Mahir and I were inseparable so it never came as surprise when girls used to hit on both of us. We literally enjoyed the attention, the flirting and kiss was really turn on for both of us but then it changed.
We made a promise to each other that we'd never think about each other's girlfriends. I thought he was joking but it soon changed when Veronica came along.
I sighed getting rid of the old memories. I could feel Luke's menacing gaze drilling hole in my back but I didn't move. After I was done treating my wound I turn to look at him. "Spit it out."
He sighed looking at me worriedly. "What are you going to do now?"
That's a billion dollar question. Mahir still sees me as a threat and I'd have been happy to let him think that way but not anymore. Not when I know Bella is in danger. A stupid fucking part of me is very well aware that I need Mahir to be on my side.
"I'll meet him."
