"Creed . . ." I whispered.
I'm hoping that saying it again will allow me to connect more fully with the present moment.
I was surprised by how handsome he looked, with his chiseled jawline and deep, expressive eyes. His neatly styled hair
gave him a sophisticated look and his lips, looking so soft—Snap out of it, Hana Demetria!
"Creed." I said once more, this time with a sense of certainty.
"Yes?" he responded, his voice gentle but curious.
I didn't even realize I was already jumping for joy.
"Ahhhh! Thank you, Lord! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
My smile refused to fade as I looked at him.
I instinctively moved forward. I was inches away from hugging him when I abruptly caught myself and froze.
"Oops!" A wave of self-awareness washed over me, and I wrapped my arms around myself instead.
"Kuya Creed!" I turned to see a young boy running towards us.
"Carlos! Hi!" I shouted back, waving energetically as I recognized him.
I couldn't keep it to myself any longer—kailangan kong ipaalam sa kanya ang magandang balita. I hurried toward him, reaching him halfway with a wide smile.
I broke the vow I made to myself.
"Masaya ako para sa'yo, Ate!"
Nakangiti akong tumango. "Salamat, Carlos!
His innocent curiosity making the moment even more special.
I shrugged, still smiling. "It's a miracle, I guess?"
"Carlos! Carlos!"
I was puzzled when he suddenly pointed at me.
She was the one I had given money to earlier.
Her sobs grew louder as she got closer. I hurried over to her, crouching down to her level.
