The next morning, Sun woke up feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness. The events of the previous night replayed in her mind, making her heart flutter with a blend of disbelief and joy. She had kissed Adele—really kissed her—and everything had changed. She wasn’t just Adele’s pretend girlfriend anymore; there was something real between them now, something that both terrified and thrilled her.
Still groggy, Sun slid out of bed and padded towards the kitchen, expecting to find the usual quiet morning routine. But as she entered, she was greeted by an unexpected sight: Adele standing at the stove, expertly flipping a pancake.
“Oh, you can cook?” Sun asked, surprised.
Adele glanced over her shoulder with a grin. “Yes, but I don’t do it very often. Only for special occasions.”
Before Sun could respond, Adele crossed the kitchen and leaned in, stealing a quick kiss from Sun’s lips. The gesture was so casual, so natural, that it took Sun completely by surprise. She felt her cheeks flush a deep shade of red, warmth spreading through her entire body.
Adele noticed and couldn’t help but chuckle. “Love, if you turn red every time I kiss you, we’re going to have a problem,” she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Because believe me, I love kissing those lips.”
Sun’s face grew even hotter, and she felt like she might actually combust. She was sure her face was the color of a ripe tomato by now. Embarrassed, she coughed lightly and quickly excused herself, heading to the bathroom to hide her flustered state.
As she closed the bathroom door behind her, Sun leaned against it, trying to calm her racing heart. She couldn’t believe how easily Adele could make her blush, how just a single kiss could leave her so flustered. But beneath the embarrassment, there was a giddy happiness she couldn’t deny.
Splashing some cool water on her face, Sun took a deep breath. She was in uncharted territory now, navigating a relationship with the woman she had secretly loved for so long. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, but as she thought of Adele waiting for her in the kitchen, a smile tugged at her lips. Maybe, just maybe, this new chapter in her life was going to be the best one yet.
