The room was dimly lit, illuminated only by the glow of Jisung's phone screen as he sat on his dorm room bed, clutching his phone with a trembling hand. It had been a long first semester, and Jisung was feeling the strain of not only his academic responsibilities but also the emotional turmoil of his relationship with Minho.

Seungmin was on the other end of the line, his voice a comforting presence in the otherwise quiet room. Seungmin had moved to Daegu after high school to attend KNU, leaving Jisung behind in Seoul. They had kept in touch over texts and calls throughout the semester, but it was hard on Jisung not having Seungmin by his side.

"Are you sure about this?" Seungmin's worried voice crackled through the phone's speaker.

Jisung sighed, his shoulders dropping as he stared out of the window at the empty streets below. "Seungmin, it's been months since I last saw Minho. We barely have time to talk, let alone visit each other. It's tearing me apart, and I can't help but feel like we're growing apart too." He paused to breathe, an attempt to calm himself down. "I don't want to hurt him," he continued, his voice trailing off. "But I can't do this anymore."

Seungmin's voice was gentle but firm. "Jisung, you deserve happiness just as much as Minho does. If this relationship is causing you more pain than joy, it might be the right choice to let go. It doesn't mean you don't love him. It means you're prioritizing your own well-being."

Tears welled up in Jisung's eyes as he realized that Seungmin was right. "Thanks."

"I'll always be here for you, no matter what. We'll get through this together, okay?"

Later, after they hung up, Jisung settled into his bed, draping the blanket over himself and pulling out his phone once again. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep anyway.

With a trembling hand, he unlocked his phone, the brightness of the screen almost blinding him. He opened his gallery and started scrolling through the photos. It was probably a bad idea but he couldn't help it. There were numerous pictures of him and Minho, mostly selfies of the two of them or candid shots that Jisung liked to take when Minho wasn't paying attention.

There was a picture of Minho on a sunny day, smiling while holding up a rainbow lollipop. Jisung remembered that day like it was yesterday. It had been just a few days before their first semester began, and they had gone out on a date. Despite the sunny weather, it has been cold outside, yet they went for a walk around the SNU campus to help Jisung get familiar with it.

Another picture, one of Jisung's favorites, was a selfie of them. They were wearing funny hats, and it was dark outside, and the picture was a bit blurry, but Jisung had had so much fun on that day.

Jisung's tears blurred the images, making it difficult to see as he kept swiping, but he couldn't bring himself to wipe them away.

How would he even begin to tell Minho that their relationship had to end?

Unable to contain his emotions any longer, Jisung set his phone aside and buried his face in the pillow, muffling his sobs. His tears stained the pillow wet under his face, but he didn't care. He was in so much pain, and he didn't know how to make it stop.
