I could still hear the echo of Director Matthews' urgent voice in my head as I raced through the darkened streets. The cool night air bit at my skin, but I didn't slow down. The agency was compromised, and every second counted. Lupé's facility had been a dangerous labyrinth, but now the entire city felt like one, with shadows lurking around every corner.

I finally got to the safe house-- a small, nondescript apartment that I used for situations like this. I slipped inside and immediately began to assess my situation. The agency's secure network had been breached. That meant Lupé had somehow gained access to our most classified information. He had the upper hand, and I had to figure out how deep this betrayal went.

I activated my secure line, knowing that Matthews would be waiting for my report. His voice was tight with stress when he answered. "Alora, where are you?"

"I'm at the safe house," I replied, keeping my voice steady despite the storm of emotions within me. "What's the situation at headquarters?"

"It's bad," Matthews said grimly. "Our systems are compromised, and we believe there's a mole inside the agency. Lupé has information that only a few of us had access to. We're trying to contain the damage, but we're not sure who we can trust."

The weight of his words sank in. Another betrayal, even closer than Carter's, had slipped under our radar. The shadows of betrayal seemed to be closing in from all sides, and the thought of it made my stomach churn.

"I need to get back to headquarters," I said, already planning my route. "We need to figure out who's behind this and stop Lupé before he takes us all down."

"No, Alora," Matthews interjected. "You can't come back here. It's too risky. We don't know who's involved, and if they see you, they might take you out before we can figure out who the mole is. You need to stay low and figure out how Lupé got the access codes. We've traced the breach to a remote server—find it and destroy whatever data he's stolen."

I clenched my jaw, the frustration of being sidelined burning in my chest. But I knew Matthews was right. Walking back into the agency now could be a death sentence, and I couldn't afford to let my emotions cloud my judgment.

"Where's the server located?" I asked, already preparing to move.

Matthews paused for a moment, then sent me the coordinates. "It's in an old industrial district, an abandoned communications hub that's been off the grid for years. Be careful, Alora. If Lupé set this up, he'll be expecting you."

"I'll handle it," I assured him, cutting the connection.

I quickly gathered my gear, arming myself for what was sure to be a dangerous mission. The streets were quiet as I slipped out of the safe house, but I couldn't shake the feeling that eyes were on me. The shadows felt alive, as if they were closing in with every step I took.

As I approached the industrial district, the buildings loomed over me like silent sentinels. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel my pulse quicken as I neared the coordinates. The hub was a relic of the past, its rusted metal exterior barely holding together. I slipped inside, my senses on high alert.

The interior was dark, lit only by the dim glow of outdated monitors and the occasional flicker of malfunctioning lights. I could hear the hum of machinery in the distance, a low, ominous sound that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I moved cautiously, my weapon drawn, scanning the area for any signs of life. The server room was deeper inside, according to the schematics Matthews had provided. As I made my way through the labyrinth of old equipment and debris, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
