My Growth Experience

First day of summer camp

I am 12, And I'm in the 6th grade. I don't know anyone at this school. I begged my mom not to make me go, we had a covid Quarantine. So, we had to be online, it was finally, The end of 6th grade. The school decided to have a summer camp, where we could get to know people, and get a gist of our first in person for school. 

Although we still had to wear masks at the time. But in the present day, as of now we don't wear them anymore.  Now I'm walking into this school, I don't know anybody. I get to class. And take my seat, it seemed everybody else knew each other, which made me feel very awkward and shy.

 But we had a nice teacher, her name was Ms. S. She was very sweet, but if only I knew all the stuff that I had ahead of me in the future. Though it seemed bad at first, this experience helped me grow. We all decided to do an icebreaker. There was this funny boy in their who stood out from all of them his name was Dexter.

 Him and his friend Charlie were really welcoming. Charlie was basically Dexters Homeboy. They had been to school together since they were young. Me though I had just got here. My first year Power center academy. But Dexter made me feel less awkward, but I was always friends with girls. I was always Shy and awkward when talking to boys. In a friendly way. Same in general just more when it comes to boys. I never thought I would get out of that shell till I met Him.

But he wasn't the only friend I met there. Some of the friends, I had changed for the better and for the worse. I'd say a week later maybe I met my soon to be best friend. And soon to be sister. Though were not that close anymore but were still friends. 

Kapri And Salish. Our class was merged with class next door for certain classes. I ended up sitting next to Salish and her sister and her sister Valentina. They really looked alike as if they were twins, but they were just sisters. Valentina was a year older than Salish. Though she was in 6th grade her birthday was late. Salish looked very light, and her hair looked soft and fluffy. She looked very nice and sweet. 

She spoke to me that day, and since that day we'd got close. We'd sit by each other every day, making funny Tik Toks and Snapchat videos. Back then most of everyone used snapchat. During one of these days before we got really close, I met my other best friend, Avery. We also became very close. All three of us were like 3 peas in a pod. We made a group called VASE. I didn't know that I wouldn't be so close with them forever. I was just now learning that not everybody stays.

 They are only there for a certain season to help you learn. Mentally for me I was still in elementary. I ended up having my first crush of middle school, this was my first time also being hurt. I just didn't know what liking someone really was and had no intention on dating nor letting wanting him to know that I liked him. In elementary I always thought if you liked someone you stayed quiet about it, but then again, I was in elementary so what else would I think.
