Chapter 2: The Awakening

|Asuna POV|

I was pretty shocked that he would ask such a question. He had to be joking, right? I had to be sure he wasn't lying since Kirito is a horrible liar. "What do you mean?"

"I mean what I said... I'm just wondering who you are." he replied.

He had to be telling the truth. Otherwise, he would've cracked during the middle of the first sentence. Before I could reply, that's when a nurse came into the room with a tray of hospital food.

"Glad to see you awake finally, Mr. Kirigaya,"

Both of us turned our heads to see what the mysterious person looked like; she had a nurse's uniform, short brown hair, and was barely able to get through the door due to her height. She was grinning from ear to ear as if she were so relieved Kirito woke up, as if she thought she'd never see him again.

"With your conditions and all, we all pretty much gave up hope, and our rooms are limited since there are more people coming here everyday. But the young lady next to you insisted, so-I-I guess you could say that she saved your life!" :T

Kirito turned his head over in my direction, and me being all macho, all I could do was blush and look down.

|Kirito POV|

When the nurse said that she saved my life, it sorta made sense now why she was in my room. She must have been someone who was important in my life-relative maybe? "What's your name?"

"Uh, wha-" she said nervously.

"I mean, you clearly know mine, it's just fair that I know yours as well."

"Oh right! Sorry, my name is Asuna, A-Asuna Yuuki."

"Well nice to meet you Asuna, I'm Kazuto, but you can call me Kirito. Although, we might have known each other before this all happened, so I guess introducing myself is pretty pointless." She seemed like a nice girl, but I felt as if she were those type of girls that switch personalities in an instant. Cute and cuddly one minute, scary and deadly the next. Bipolar maybe? o. o

"Well I just came here to give you your food Mr. Kirigaya, by that slim chance that you might've woken up. And I guess today, was my lucky day. I'll be on my way, and leave you two lovebirds alone."

|Asuna POV|

As soon as the nurse left, I saw Kirito getting out of bed. "You really should get some more rest. You only just woke up a few minutes ago."

"I'm fine,"

"No, you're not."

"Asuna please..."

"No, you always do this. You always act so tough, me like you don't need to rely on anyone else. When in truth, you can't do everything yourself."

"Well, I guess that's just who I am then."

A slight blush appeared on my cheeks as I watched him on his shoes. "Well at least let me drive you wherever you wanna go... I still don't trust you out in the road."

"Whatever you say,"

"Now where do you wanna go first?"
