The faint beeping of the machines can be heared in the sterile room, a rhythmic sound that seemed to grow louder and louder as consciousness slowly returned to the man lying on the bed. His head was heavy, wrapped in thick bandages that throbbed with dull pain. He Blinked against the harsh white light, he opened his eyes, taking in his surroundings with a mix of confusion and fear.
As his vision cleared, he saw a figure standing by the bedside. The man was tall, with a well-defined, almost intimidating presence. There was something familiar about him, yet the fog in the man's mind kept him from placing it. His heart began to race, and panic set in as the questions started swirling in his head.
"Where... where am I? Who am I?" His voice trembled as he spoke, his breath quickening with each word. The fear in his eyes was unmistakable, a desperate plea for answers to the chaotic thoughts racing through his mind.
The man hovering over him leaned in closer, a calm, almost soothing expression on his face. "Calm down," he said softly, his voice smooth and composed. "I'll answer all your questions, but you need to relax."
Tears welled up in the patient's eyes as he looked up at the man, searching his face for any hint of familiarity. "But who are you?" he asked, his voice breaking with emotion. "Do you know me? Who are you, and what's your relation to me?"
The man smiled gently, though there was an unsettling glint in his eyes that the patient couldn't quite place. "You're Jungkook," he said, his tone filled with a strange mix of warmth and possessiveness. "Kim Jungkook. And I'm Kim Taehyung... your husband."
Jungkook's breath hitched, the words hitting him like a shockwave. His mind, still foggy and confused, struggled to make sense of it all. "Husband?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. The word felt foreign on his tongue, and yet something about it stirred a deep, unsettling feeling within him.
Taehyung nodded, his smile widening. "Yes, my love. We're married. Don't worry-I'm here to take care of you. Everything will be alright."
But as Jungkook looked into Taehyung's eyes, a cold shiver ran down his spine. The man's reassurances did nothing to ease the dread growing in his chest, and deep down, a tiny, flickering memory
Jungkook's mind swirled with confusion and fear, the name Taehyung had given him echoing in his thoughts like a distant memory he couldn't quite grasp. "Jungkook... Kim Jungkook," he repeated to himself, trying to make sense of it. He looked up at Taehyung, his eyes wide and desperate. "But... I don't remember anything. How did we meet? How... how did we fall in love? How did we get married?"
Taehyung's smile remained, but there was a darkness behind his eyes, a subtle shift that only added to the dread building in Jungkook's chest. "It's okay if you don't remember," Taehyung said softly, his voice dripping with false affection. "You've been really going through a lot. The doctors said this might happen."
Jungkook's hands slightly trembled as he clutched on the bedsheet beneath him , trying to ground himself. "B---But... how did it happen? How did we even fall in love? Where did we meet? Why I can't remember anything ."
Taehyung's hand reached slowly out to gently cup Jungkook's cheek, the touch making Jungkook sudden flinch, though he couldn't understand why. "its been almost 3years first We met at a café," Taehyung began, his tone almost too smooth, too practiced. "You were quitely sitting alone,I still remember that day your reading a book with specs on and a cup full of banana milk . I was drawn to you immediately. We started talking, and from that day on, we were literally inseparable."
Jungkook's brows furrowed, trying to picture the scene, but all he saw was a blank canvas. "A café? What book was I reading?"
"Pride and Prejudice," Taehyung said without hesitation. "You even told me it was your favorite. We bonded over our love for classic literature and artistry. You were so much passionate, so full of life. I couldn't help but fall in love with you each time wherever I saw you and deeply every time."
