I could no longer ignore the smell of food because, instead and tantalizing my taste buds, it made my stomach roll. I groaned softly as the build-up of stomach contents became unbearable and my eyes snapped open.
I sat up abruptly.
This was not my room!
"Shit!" I moaned as I raced out of the bed and dashed for the slightly opened bathroom door. I hunched over the toilet and gagged out everything in my stomach. I felt soft fingers pull my hair back from my face as I heaved for the second time until there was nothing else to remove then I slumped over the toilet. I had a terrible headache and my body felt hot and cold at the same time.
I shouldn't have taken the shots, I thought vehemently as I looked up at my hair savior.
When I saw Adrian's face, I wanted to pout and throw a tantrum like a kid. He must have thought I was the worst species of woman he had ever come across.
"I thought you took me home," I muttered with my voice hoarse and very un-sexy.
Adrian reached for the water glass on the bathroom counter and handed it to me. "At the state that you were, it was safer to have you here. You could have drowned in your own vomit if you were alone."
My face turned red as I gurgled and cleaned my mouth before spitting into the toilet. As I tried to get up, Adrian's arms hefted me from the floor and he flushed the toilet before taking me back to the big bed.
"We slept in the same bed?"
"It's not like you gave me much of a choice." He sat on the side of the bed as I crawled back up.
I noticed that he was already dressed up in a gray shirt and black pants. Was he going out?
"Here." He handed me two aspirins and some more water. I washed the tablets down my throat and rested back on the very comfortable and beckoning bed.
"Are you going out?" I asked him cuddling deeper into the sheets because I felt so lousy.
He nodded and turned to me. "I have a lunch date."
"I thought you said you never did public? Are there exceptions?" I narrowed my eyes at him. This must be a very good exception since he was all dressed up and smelled heavenly.
Should it have bothered me that there was someone out there who was allowed to be seen in public with Adrian? Maybe it should have but I didn't mind having him the way I did. I wasn't in the mood of doing relationships after how messy the last one was. This was fine for me right now.
"She is an exception." He answered as he slipped the cuff-links in their place and looked at me. "Are you okay with that?"
I gave him a shrug because I didn't see any reason not to be okay with it. "It's your life, pretty boy."
He bent down and placed a kiss on my lips. "You can stay here until in the evening. I will be back by five. Helena is at your disposal—so is Todd if you want to go home. Eat something and get some more rest." He got up and made his way towards his desk and chair where his jacket was before he fitted it on. It was a perfect fit for him.
As he stood in front of me looking utterly beautiful, I felt like I wanted to go to him, stand on my tippy toes and just kiss him again. His hungry eyes suddenly slashed towards me as he buttoned his jacket. His full lips pressed down in a tight line and his jaw clenched.
My mouth dried. I felt that the action was a promise for what was going to come that evening. I shifted nervously in sheets as he stalked to the door and disappeared without so much as a goodbye.
