btw, not dating (yet), just friends

"So what do you want to do?" Walker asks me, leaning against the counter in his kitchen. The snow hasn't let up all day, it collecting on the ground like a fluffy carpet.

"We should make cookies!" I say jumping to sit on the cool countertop. "You always want to bake something," his smile laces his words making them silky-sweet "duh, bakings the best. Why are you even complaining? You eat whatever we make as fast as it can come out of the oven." he trails after me as I go to look in the fridge.

"Everything's best when it's still warm!" he puts his hands up in defence grinning at me. "Whatever Scobell. You have stuff for chocolate chip or gingerbread., what do you want?"

"Chocolate for sure," he says following after me as I walk to the oven. "Why'd you even have to ask? You know their my favorite." Walker stops walking to question me, "I don't know, gingerbreads good at christmas, I thought you might want to shake it up." I reply giggling at his confused face. "Shaking things up is overrated," another smirk covers his face "Let's just make some cookies." he says pulling out the mixing bowls and placing them on the counter.

Doing things you need some focus in is very hard for Walker, he's always gotta be doing something else on the side. Baking with him always means I'm making him something and he is trying to get me to look at whatever he's doing.

He's not the most helpful but it's a lot of fun, my stomach hurts from laughing when we are done. The sun starting to go down making the house just that bit more chilly which makes you get goosebumps.

"shit, it's cold." I say combining the chocolate chips into the dough, "One sec." Walker says going to run upstairs leaving me in the kitchen. The house goes quiet and the walls seem stiff, no one else is home besides us. All the rooms are normally filled with noise and light arguing from the siblings. It doesn't feel right to be the only one making a sound.

Walker's footsteps grow louder as he comes back from his room holding a hoodie. "Here." The hoodie is then put over my head before I can say anything. "Thanks Walk," I say as he holds the sleeves out for me to put my arms in.

"Don't want you to be cold," his blue eyes pierce mine, his lips pulling upwards "I-I mean, it is super cold." his gaze pulls away from me, clearing his throat and pulling the bowl in front of him.

"Whats next?" He says moving the spoon around the bowl. "The oven's ready so we just need to put them on the sheet and bake." I pull out the parchment paper and he fumbles around the cabinet till he finds the right backing sheet.

We lay the chocolaty balls on the pan and put them in the oven, he sets the timer and then all we need to do is wait. The couch finds itself to be very comfortable after standing for so long, Walker throws his legs on me as we lay tip to tail on the sofa.

The warmness of the fire palace lulls me into an almost sleep until I get tapped a couple of times by a blonde boy with a cookie in his hand. Walker smiles down at me before taking another bite. "Their done!" he says with his mouth half full. "I never would have guessed." my hand rubs my face and I place my feet on the cold floor.

I follow the cookie smell to the kitchen where Walker has already eaten a quarter of the pan. He makes room for me to slide in beside him to grab one before he takes a bite of it as it's in my hand. "Walker!" I yell pulling my hand away from his face, he just giggles and grabs another one.

"These are so good." it's a little hard to hear him through his full mouth, but him shoving it in his mouth confirms my suspicions. After we had our fill we go upstairs to watch a show in his room. The show is about 20 minutes in before the sugar coma pulls me in and I fall asleep on his bed.

My phone lights up forcing my eyes open. It's dark outside now, the snow barely let up. The light exhale from Walker makes me realize that his arms are wrapped around my shoulders pulling me into his chest. He's using my one arm as a pillow and the other is lost between our two bodies.

"Walker," I whisper, trying to wake him up but not wanting him to. His face scrunches up and his arms pull me closer to him. "Walker," I say again, "no." he grones "I'm not getting up yet." He tells me. "Fine," I give up my fight and lay in his arms.

"You're comfy." he says inching me a bit closer, "you're warm," I say helping him by pushing my cheek to his chest. "Let's just stay like this for a while." I can feel his chin rest on the top of my head, "Okay." my hand finds the back of his neck, holding his head closer to me. His hand rubs over my shoulder as he inhales before letting out his breath and falling asleep.
