Isaac's POV

"How mad do you think she's gonna be?" Dion's voice rings in my car as I pull into my driveway.

I glance at the time on the stereo, 11:26pm, and grimmance.

"Seven," I say. "Seven and half maybe."

He chuckles deeply, "better grab your pillow and blanket, I think you might be sleeping on the couch again."

"Fuck you, that was by choice, I didn't want to bother her and wake her up."

"Or you were too scared to deal with her wrath because of the time you got home!"

"You're an idiot," I smile as I place my car in park.

"You're both idiots!" I hear Angela say from a distance. "You wake your daughter up, Ricci, and KP isn't gonna be the only one sleeping on the ouch these days."

Dion chuckles softly, "yes, Mrs. Ricci. I'll see you at the warehouse in the morning, KP, call me if you need a place to crash."

I smile, playfully rolling my eyes, "for sure. Goodnight, Ang."

"Night," she says shortly.

I end the call a second later and kill the engine to my car, stepping out of it and walking over towards my front door, noting the lights off inside.

Yep. She's definitely gonna be mad if she's asleep already.

Fishing my keys out, I unlock the door and walk into my house, locking the door behind me. Making my way over to our alarm system I quickly disarmed it, resetting it from the night and began to walk in the direction of my living room to see a faint glow coming from that room.

I find my wife asleep on the couch, on her side with our five year old son in her arms, the tv playing something softly in the background.

I smile and pull my phone back out of my pocket, taking a quick picture of my two most important people and crouch down in front of the couch a second later.

I place my hand on the side of Hailey's face/upper neck, caressing her face with my thumb.

She inhales a deep breath, waking up a second later, staring in my direction. "You're late," she whispers.

I nod, caressing her skin still, "I know, I'm sorry, he didn't talk as easily as I would have hoped he did."

She nods her head silently.

"Let's go to bed," I lean in to kiss her on the forehead, and scoop Isaiah in my arms, standing back up to my full height.

My son immediately begins to stir and is wrapping his arms around my neck instantly falling back to sleep as I wait for Hailey to get up from the couch and follow her up the stairs.

She pushes Isaiah's bedroom open for me and I'm walking over to the bed placing him down on it stepping to the side, allowing my wife to tuck him in, walking back to our bedroom.

"You showering or getting straight into bed?" She questions as she walks over to the bed, undoing the blankets.

I shake my head, heading towards the bathroom, "I'll shower in the morning, I'm exhausted."

I leave the door open to the bathroom as I step inside and quickly begin to undress. I step out of my shoes, kicking them towards the laundry bin, quickly taking off my silky black button up, tossing it into the bin.

Pulling my gun out of my slacks I place it on the counter, removing my belt and slacks afterwards, tossing them into the bin as well, reaching for the sweatpants that I left in here this morning, stepping back into them.
