Was it a knock that had woke me?

I look at the tainted windows, the wine glass still full in my hand now warm from being held for what seemed like an eternity. I immediately got up too fast for my body to handle. My head began pounding like I had gone through hell and back. I feel a weight on top of me; what I'm assuming is a blanket as it slides off slightly.

I don't remember how I got here. Where was I before this?

"Oh, you're finally up!" someone said from the other side of the counter with wine bottles behind them.

"Who... are you? What happened?" Groggily, I look up to see a familiar face.

Their tan skin was practically glowing. They had an ombre shade of brown and dirty blonde hair went down to a few inches below their neck, tied into a low ponytail. Deep forest green eyes looked at me as I noticed a mole under their left eye that almost looked like a scar.

"Theo?" I ask.

"You had too much to drink, then you blacked out." he said as I tried to orient myself.

"Ahh..." I say as I remember how much I embarrassed myself in front of Kylo, "Where is Kylo?"

"Who?" They seemed puzzled by my question,"Oh, you mean the tall man, black hair with blonde tips in the front? That look straight out of a k-drama?" they ask.

"Yes!"

"They paid for the drinks and I told them I'd take you home. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my fiance's cousin with someone I barely knew."

"Well alright," I looked to the side of where the now empty wine glass stood.

I feel a strong tug in my chest. Deep down I wanted him to take me home or rent out a hotel room for the night. I wanted to feel some sort of comfort. It's just my wishful, and possibly naive thinking at this point. I didn't care. He felt like the one. The stories my parents used to tell me when I was younger of how my father thought my mother was the one. The one that he had been searching for his whole life.  Now I finally understand. I didn't believe them...until tonight.

What was I doing here again? I think to myself, but I must've said it out loud.

"What?"

"Oh crap, I— I was just thinking out loud," I try to reassure them, but they can tell I'm lying.

"Hey, I'm almost done with my shift, then we can go home together," They looked at me with concern.

"Okay"

They place a glass of water in front of me and they take the empty glass of wine. I'm trying to hold onto the feeling of the past few hours that had been the best of my life. I glanced over to my Apple watch to see my heart rate was going faster than normal. I put my hand over my chest and take a few deep breaths to get the throbbing in my chest under control. I grab a glass of water and take a few sips. That helped for now. My heart is no longer racing. I finally tried to stand up after what felt like an hour. I put my hand around the end of the counter to hopefully hold support for myself.

"Claudia! Just stay seated," Theo protested, I could see the worry on their face.

"I'll be fine," I respond as the world around me begins to slow down. Something that should happen only in movies. Then, everything goes black...

When I open my eyes the first thing I notice is I am in a room. My head throbbing. A cough bubbles up my chest and I look down at my hands to see a dark smear of crimson red on my left hand.
