Chapter 26

Edward is sitting at his desk, lost in thought, thinking about everything that has happened. Louis is really the sweetest omega he has ever met, and his crazy ex has the fuck it all up. He knew it was trouble when he heard that Marcus was working at the office. It should have raised big red flags, well it did, but he was being certain he would not let that omega come close to him.

He should have said that Marcus couldn't come to his floor. He had thought about it. If he went through with that idea Marcus would never had the chance to put the Coactus Amor in his coffee. But he let it happen, he was tricked by that devious omega. He really hates himself for what he has done.

He is still a bit surprised Louis doesn't hate him. He was so glad to have Edward back and he immediately forgave Edward, he was such a kind hearted omega. Louis never gave him a hard time, all Louis did was being understanding and never blame Edward for what had happened.

Edward was so proud of Louis, Louis gave him three beautiful boys, his sons, he was a father! Louis is a great mother and has the biggest heart. Why else would he forgive Edward for what he did to him? He left him while he was pregnant, he left his brothers. He feels so weak for doing that.

He remembers the call he got from Harry, telling him Louis was going into labour. Louis wanted him there, so he rushed out and went to see his little one. He is so glad he did that but he still feels like a failure. Why did he leave his loved ones.

It's funny how the mind keeps going back to the things in life you did wrong. In your head you make all the paths that would have prevented your biggest mistake, and in the end, it doesn't help, because you took the wrong path, and you need to create a new way after that.

Edward was still deep in thoughts when the door slowly opened. He was abruptly pulled out of his thought by a smell that he never wanted to smell again. It made him sick to his stomach.

In the doorway stood Marcus with a hot steaming cup of coffee. He smiled sweetly at Edward. "Hello my love, did you miss me?" Marcus started. "I missed you so much Eddy, here I brought you a nice cup of coffee."

Marcus started to make his way to Edwards desk to give him the coffee. Still smiling like a madman. Edward started to feel nauseous and rolled his chair backwards to keep the distance between him and Marcus.

Marcus still unaware of the change in Edwards behaviour kept walking to the desk. "You stop right there!" Edward yelled. "Don't you dare come any closer to me." Marcus' smile faltered, he knew something was up.

Edward stood up from the desk and created as much space as possible between him and Marcus. "Just take the coffee and get out of here." Edward said. "He tried to stay calm, and not draw attention to them, because he was sure Marcus would profit of a situation like that.

"But I made this coffee especially for you. Why are you acting like this.?" Marcus said. "I think you are just stressed out because you had a long business trip, and I bet you missed me, huh?"

"Oh hell no, I surely didn't miss you, I learnt a lot on my business trip, and not only about the business but also about you." Edward told him. Edward could see the doubt in Marcus eyes and he was positive he put the Coactus Amor in all his cans of instant coffee.

A shiver went up his spine, thinking about what could have happened if Harry wouldn't have figured out what Marcus was doing. Now it all made perfect sense why Marcus kept coming to his office and insisting he drank his coffee.

"Come on Edward, don't act like that, just sit down and drink your coffee, hmm?" Marcus said. "I will just leave it here on your desk, and you can sit down and just drink the coffee. I will be leaving now, and I will come back in a bit, after you had your coffee. You are just a grumpy alpha when you haven't had your coffee."

"I don't need your coffee." Edward was starting to get angry now. It was so obviously clear Marcus poisoned this coffee too. He was so focused on making Edward drink his coffee, that Edward started to hate himself for not seeing this earlier. Because he has done it from the start. "I already had my coffee this morning, made by my sweet omega, thank you very much. Now Leave!"

The mention of Louis made Marcus realize there was something wrong. He couldn't understand what it was. He put the Coactus Amor in all his cans. Even the one he takes with him on his travels. Didn't he drink his coffee? What was it, he was so careful to put it everywhere. That even when he wasn't around him Edward would still want him because he drank the Coactus Amor every day.

As Marcus was overthinking what could have gone wrong, the door behind him opened.

"What the hell do you think you are doing here?!" Louis yelled when he saw Marcus in Edwards office. Louis was fuming and didn't even notice how Edward was still standing in the corner at the far end of his office. "Get out of here NOW!"

Marcus didn't move and could only look at Louis with his eyes wide open. Still thinking what had happened and why Louis was even here in Edwards office. But it all became clear to Marcus when Edward spoke. "Oh my beautiful soulmate is here, come over here little one, and give me a hug." Louis slowly walked over to Edward still watching Marcus like a hawk.

"Marcus was just leaving, leaving to never ever come back here." Edward said. Marcus just looked at them. "Well what are you waiting for?" Louis snapped, "just go away and never come back!"
