Hadi pov:
*5:40* beep beep, I growled and tapped the screen. It's a start of another school year. Slowly but surely I got myself off my comfortable bed and made my way to the bathroom to do my morning routine. Which consists of brushing my teeth, washing my face, putting moisture on and that's it.
As I retrieved out of the bathroom my phone started ringing and I know exactly who it is. My cousin and best friend Harris. Every morning when we get ready for work we hop on call and talk about the previous day and what life has to offer.
"Assalamualaikum Champ how are you", I said starting off the conversation.
"Walaikumassalam Hadi I am good Alhamdulillah and you", he replied with little enthusiasm.
"Alhamdulillah all well, what's up with you. Where is that joyful Harris gone".
"Don't even ask, I didn't go about to sleep after fajr as I had pending accounts to make". This made me laugh so hard because this boy never compromises his sleep. It is his everything.
"Hey, hey why you laughing", Harris asked getting frustrated.
"Well my friend we all know how much you love your sleep".
"Okay shut up".
And the conversation went on until we both were dressed. Today I decided to wear a white shirt with a black waist coat and matching it with a black tie. In September in the UK this year it's surprisingly really hot. We are having a heat wave this week. Which is the worst thing. This means my classroom will smell like sweat.
As I styled my hair to how I like it I made my way downstairs to the living room. "Assalamualaikum dad how are you". Dad looked up from his newspaper and said, "Walaikumassalam Hadi I am good Alhamdulillah". "Dad isn't Ibrahim Bhai and Sara Bhabi coming today", I asked as I need to buy little Ahmed and Amna a present.
"Yes they are, but they will be coming a bit late as Ibrahim's boss called him for a meeting", he said while reading something in the newspaper. Old men and newspapers.
You are old as well
Gosh this subconscious mind always talks. But I guess I am kind of old. I am 30 years old. Well who cares.
"Taeyun, Hadi come food is ready", Mum shouted from the kitchen. We both made our way to the dining table and took our seats. First mum plated dad's breakfast than mine. "Hadi, are you going to the shops for Ahmed and Amna", asked Mum.
"Yes, I promised them that I would get them presents", I said while munching on the egg. "If you don't mind can you get some snacks for the children from Asda". "Mum you don't have to ask just command me and I will go", this made both parents chuckle.
"Take Harris with you as well, he also promised them presents and you know if they won't get what's promised they will throw a fit", dad said. Mum hit his arm making him hiss. "Taeyun don't say that about my grandchildren". "Okay, sorry begam".
