[Roses POV]

Aiden had been urging me to go to this party for weeks since he got invited. It wasn't a big deal to me, but I just didn't feel like going. After all, what would I even do there? He knows everyone, and I don't. Still, I knew it meant a lot to him, so I decided to set my feelings aside and go anyway.

The night of the party finally arrived, and as soon as I stepped into the house, I got a really bad feeling. It wasn't just because I hadn't wanted to go in the first place—this was something different, a deeper unease.

"Babe, you'll stay with me, right?" I asked, clearly showing my concern.

"Rose, relax. I'm here to have a good time, and I want you to enjoy yourself too. Don't cling to me," Aiden replied in a dry tone that made me overthink everything.

Without saying another word, I headed outside to one of the mini bars and sat down, ordering a few drinks to help pass the time.

After a little while, a man approached me, saying, "Hey, isn't that your boyfriend?"

He pointed toward Aiden, who was making out with a girl I had never seen before. Shocked, I dropped my drink, which shattered onto the ground causing a huge mess.

"It's okay, he wasn't worth it" the man added then suddenly grabbed my hips roughly, and tried to kiss my neck.

"Get off me" I snapped, pushing him away before stumbling further into the house, my vision a bit blurred from the drinks I'd had.

By that point, I couldn't have been more upset. I hated everyone there, and all I wanted was to find that motherfucker and end him. I shoved people out of my way until I finally spotted him, unsurprisingly, with his arms wrapped around that girl's waist.

"AIDEN!" I screamed so loudly that the party noises suddenly died down.

He turned around, instantly recognizing my voice. "Who are you?" he stammered, his face going pale as he realized the gravity of what he was doing.

This time, he had gone way too far—cheating on me and then pretending not to know me?

"Wow, okay. At least now I see who you really are" I said, my voice trembling as I turned to walk away.

I could hear people laughing, but their voices quickly faded as I began to have a panic attack, desperate to get out of there. But he had the car, and I couldn't leave right away. I ran upstairs and locked myself in the nearest room, where I broke down, crying my heart out.

How could he do this to me after five years together? My thoughts began to spiral, consuming me as I struggled to calm down. Just when I thought I couldn't pull myself out of it, I heard a noise coming from the hallway. The sound shocked me, forcing me to collect myself, at least a little.

I heard a knock at the door. Who could it be?

"Hey, are you okay?" a girl's voice asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"I will be, don't worry" I replied, trying to steady my voice.

"Can I come in?" she asked softly.

I hesitated for a moment but then made my way to the door. When I opened it, I found myself face to face with the most stunning woman I had ever met. She was a tall brunette with hazel eyes, and when she looked at me, it felt like she was staring straight into my soul. To be honest, I kind of liked it.
