Three years later...

...

Hiroki POV

"Hiroki! It's your first day at college today, right?" Kanako asked.

"Yep! Though it sucks that my first day at uni is pouring right now." I replied.

"Well, what can you do about that? Just gun it to the college quickly! That's what I did!" Kanako remarked.

"I'm not getting soaked on the first day, Kanako! I will just use an umbrella or something." I stated.

"I can drive you, ya know! Just say the word and I will go petal to the metal!" Kanako exclaimed.

"I don't want you to be late for your job, sis. Just let me walk today, I don't wanna wear you down." I explained.

"Oh please! Driving you is no skin off my back! If you wanna walk through the pouring rain though, then be my guest." Kanako said.

"Thanks!" I exclaimed before running out the door.

...

*Shshshshsh*

The walk between the house and the college is long enough to where an umbrella is probably the best bet to get me through.

Hopefully my first day won't be too bad. It's the same college that Kanako was going to, so there is still a chance for me to be recognized.

Though, considering the length of time since then, they probably don't care.

The run won't be that bad, at least! Training constantly for three years has made my endurance go off the charts!

Even if my first day does not go that well, I know that I can hang out with the friends I've made. Trying to make male friends for the first time has led me to discovering joys that I have not experienced beforehand!

*Whoosh*

Shit!

Why is the wind getting so strong?

*Whoosh*

My umbrella!

Now I'm getting poured on!

Maybe I should have taken up Kanako's offer.

I ran it to a bus stop and waited under the cover.

Man, when is this rain gonna let up?

"Crap! Crap! Why are there holes in my umbrella?" a woman remarked.

The woman ran into the same bus stop as me.

Huh.

"Having umbrella problems too?" I asked.

She glanced at me.

"Y-yeah. I think mine got worn out and betrayed me! What about yours?" the woman wondered.

"The wind stole mine. Even running won't stop the rain from pouring on me!" I replied.

"I know. Hopefully this rain lets up soon, I can't be late for my classes." the woman stated.

"Hm? Is today also your first day at college?" I pondered.

"Yeah! What classes do you have?" the woman requested.

I pulled up my class schedule on my phone.

"Hey! We share a couple of classes!" the woman said.

My school day has not even started, and I'm already making friends.
