The Golden Flower Springs in the Garden

You and Jack have been dorm mates for quite a while, and during this time, he's been quite fond about being friends with you. Until one night, he oddly starts to pay more attention to you than usual, making you curious. You two were now relaxing in your dorm, eating snacks and watching TV in snuggly pyjamas.

Jack: "Hey, Y/N... you up to anything tomorrow?"
Once he says that, you turn to him, your ears a little perked up, unsure why he asked that. You decided to shrug it off and smile.
You: "Nope, not really."
Jack: "That's great!"
He finishes off with that, not specifying at all why he asked that, leaving you confused and curious as he goes back to watching TV.

You then go back to watching TV as well, but something about that question is roaming in your mind, you really can't help but wanna ask him about it. You turn your head slowly at him, staring at him for a moment before finally speaking up what you were thinking about.

You: "Say, Jack..."
Jack immediately turns his head to you, his doggy ears perk up, making you smile a little as you prepare to ask him your question.
You: "Why did you ask me if I was free tomorrow?"
Jack: "Ooh? Well, I was basically really interested in you and... umm, well..."
You: "Well, what..?"
You raised your eyebrows at him, now very curious on what he was gonna say. As you watched him, he seemed reluctant to speak.

Jack smiles and chuckles, clearly trying to avoid the question. This caught your attention, but you decide to shrug it off with him, looking away and letting him relax, not pushing the topic too far with him. Jack then gets up and yawns, stretching out ready to go to bed. You look up, noticing his tired state.

Jack: "Welp, good night, roomie!"
You: "Oh, yeah, good night to you too... roomie..."
And after that, he's off to bed and you were left sitting on the floor in your pyjamas with a lot of confused thoughts in your mind.

You then get up and look at Jack laying in his bed, smiling before going to your bed and taking a rest yourself. As the moon rises and the both of you are fast asleep, the night sky and the lights coming from the TV dimly light up the room and the TV is quietly blaring in the background. You knew that you had some interrogation to do with Jack tomorrow.
