The next morning, Sadhana and Shubman woke up early, the excitement of the day ahead filling the air. They both got ready, packing their essentials for the trip to Amritsar. The thought of seeing their families and spending time together was enough to bring smiles to their faces.
Sadhana dressed in a casual yet stylish outfit— a simple kurti with jeans—while Shubman opted for a comfortable T-shirt and jeans. Both of them carried their backpacks, ready for the journey ahead.
As they drove to the airport, Sadhana glanced over at Shubman, a playful grin on her face. "You know, I'm excited to see the look on our parents' faces when we show up together. They probably aren't expecting us to arrive at the same time."
Shubman chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, especially since they think you're still in Toronto. This is going to be fun."
They boarded their flight, settling into their seats with ease. The five-hour journey passed quickly as they chatted, watched movies, and occasionally dozed off, enjoying the rare downtime they had together.
By the time they landed in Amritsar, it was already 1 pm. The afternoon sun was bright and warm, casting a golden hue over the city as they made their way to Shubman's family home, where both sets of parents were gathered.
As they approached the front door, Sadhana could hear the familiar sound of laughter and conversation drifting from inside. It brought a sense of comfort, knowing that both their families were together, discussing their future.
Shubman pushed the door open, and they stepped inside, backpacks slung over their shoulders. The sight that greeted them was heartwarming—both their parents were seated in the living room, deep in conversation.
They were discussing wedding details, smiles on their faces as they talked about venues, dates, and guest lists. Neither set of parents had noticed Sadhana and Shubman's arrival yet, so Sadhana decided to have a little fun.
She cleared her throat dramatically, catching everyone's attention. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Planning our wedding without us?"
The sudden interruption caused all four parents to jump in surprise, their eyes widening as they turned to see Sadhana standing there, a mischievous smile on her face, and Shubman beside her, trying to stifle his laughter.
"Sadhana?!" Poorani, Sadhana's mother, exclaimed, her voice filled with shock. "What are you doing here? Weren't you supposed to be in Toronto?"
Shubman's mother, Keart, looked equally stunned. "And Shubman! Why didn't you tell us you were bringing Sadhana with you?"
Sadhana couldn't help but laugh at their expressions. "Surprise! We thought we'd come together and give you all a little shock."
Sakthivel, Sadhana's father, stood up, a mixture of surprise and delight on his face. "This is a pleasant surprise indeed! But how did this happen? When did you two plan this?"
