Julie's POV
—later that day—
I'm sure every kid got a text message that there was a party tonight on Greene street (I'm just making up some random names)
As we exit the classroom on our way to lunch Flynn stops me "You got the text too right? Maybe this is your chance to go with Luke..."
What she said made sense because this could give me and Luke the opportunity to go out or something idk but I smile at him when he comes up beside us I show him the text message "You want too go?"
He reads it "it could give us a break from our thoughts... from Friday... we could use it." I remind him and also remind myself
"Uh, yeah sure... what time?" He asks "party starts at 9:30... but we can be there but you could pick me up by 8:30. And leave my house by 9 be there in 20 minutes...Flynn is coming too."
He nods "sounds like fun, and also... hi Flynn, nice to meet you, I'm L-" she shakes his hand "Luke... I know... Julie won't shut up about you."
He smirks and I blush "Oh... she won't?" He looks over at me and I walk in line for lunch and we get our food and we find ourselves sitting with Alex, Reggie, Willie and Bobby
-After school-
Flynn and I spend the whole afternoon rifling through my closet, trying on different outfits and experimenting with make-up. She's determined to make me look "drop-dead-gorgeous" and I have to admit, it's nice to have her here, distracting me from my anxiety that's been weighing over me like a dark cloud that's just about to hit with lightning and thunder...
As the clock ticks closer to 8... then to &:30, my nerves start to creep back into its place, Flynn notices and gives me a reassuring smile as she finishes the last touch of her eyeliner "you're going to have an amazing time Jules... just relax and enjoy yourself."
"Okay.." I nod trying to prepare myself "thank you Flynn... i don't know what I'd do without you."
"Probably show up in jeans and a t-shirt." She teases but my nerves have heightened "but, seriously... you look incredible. Luke's going to be blown away."
I glance at my reflection, feeling a bit more confident. Flynn's right- I do look pretty good. The dress we picked out is simple but flattering, and the makeup is just enough to make me feel a little more put together without being too much
The doorbell rings and my heart skips a beat "that's him.." I say suddenly feeling a surge of excitement
Flynn grins and gives me a playful push to the door, I'm sure he's nervous too... "Go get him girl!"
I look at myself one more time in the mirror by the door frame and then quickly open up the door and I see him in a good looking outfit (not a suit, can't be that fancy) he looks so good...
"wow...you look..." he says smiling "Great..." his voice a little shy comparing to him talking to me before
"So do you..." I reply, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks
"Okay, you two love birds, let's get going..." Flynn interrupts us
We smile and all of us head to his car, the air cool and crisps, filled with scent from the autumn leaves. The drive to the party is filled with easy conversation, well to me and Flynn... but Luke and I... it's not so easygoing... but we make it work
When we arrive to the party the house is flooded with already buzzed teenagers the music is loud, thankfully we're in the middle of nowhere. People are dancing, drinking, laughing, smoking... it's a bit overwhelming at first but with Luke by my side I think I can manage it quickly
We grab some drinks and go and find a spot to hang out and chat with some people from our school. The alcohol loosen me up, and before you know it, I'm laughing and having a great time. Luke's right there with me, his presence is comforting...
As the night goes on, we both have a few more drink. Flynn's out dancing with some guy. And the boundaries between Luke and I start to blur. Our conversations become more playful, our touches more frequent. The alcohol dulls in my inhibitions, and I can feel the tension build up between us, with each passing moment.
We're standing close now, closer than we've ever been before. The space between us has all but disappeared, and I feel the heat radiating off his body. His arm is around my waist, pulling me closer, and I don't resist. I lean into him, my head resting on his chest, and his heartbeat thunders in my ear, strong and steady, grounding me in the chaos around us...
"Julie." He whispers his lips brushing against my hair. There's a question in his voice, something I've never heard before
I tilt my head up to look at him, our faces now inches apart. His eyes are dark, pupils blown wide, and I can see the same tension, the same anticipation in them, that I'm feeling in my stomach.
"Yeah?" I whisper back, my voice barely audible over the pounding music.
He doesn't say anything, but the look in his eyes is enough. I know what he's thinking. And I know what my answer is. Without thinking, I close the gap between us, pressing my lips to his in a kiss that's been building up what seems to be like forever.
The moment our lips meet, it's like everything else fades away. The party, the noise, the people- it all fades into background, leaving just the two of us. the kiss is slow at first, almost tentative, like we're both testing the waters. But then something snaps, and all the restraint we've been holding onto evaporates
Luke's arms tighten around me, pulling me flush against him as his kiss deepens. My hands find their way to his hair, tugging slightly, and he groans against my lips, the sound of shiver down my spine. His mouth is hot and demanding, and I can feel the urgency in the way he's kissing me, like he's been waiting for this as long as I have.
We pull back for a breath, our foreheads resting against each others, both of us breathing heavily. I can feel his breath on my lips, warm and intoxicating, and all I want is more...
"Let's get out of here." He murmurs, his voice rough with desire. His hands already in mine and before I can even think to answer, he's leading me away from the crowded living room, away from the noise and the people and towards the stairs.
We make our way up, stumbling slightly, our hands all over each other. Everytime we pause to steal a kiss, it's like the world narrows down to just us. The feel of his hands on my skin, his lips on mine— it's overwhelming, and I can't get enough.
We reach an empty bedroom at the end of the hall, and the door clicks shut behind us. The room is dark, the only light coming from the moon shining through the window, casting everything in a soft, silver glow. It feels like we're in our own little world, cut off from everything else, and I don't ever want to leave
Luke pulls me towards him, his lips crashing into mine. We're both desperate now, our hands roaming, tugging at clothes, trying to get as close as possible. I can feel the heat building between us, a fire that's been there since we've met...
We tumble onto the bed, a tangle of limbs and heated kisses. My mind is spinning, a blur of want and need, all I can focus on is him. His weight on top of me, the feel of his skin on mine, the way his hands are EVERYWHERE, driving me wild...
"Julie." Luke breathes my name like a prayer, his voice is thick with emotion. His forehead rest against mine, and I can see the vulnerability in his eyes. The unspoken question...
I answer him with a kiss, soft and sweet, letting him know that I'm all in. We're in this together and nothing else matters
And then... we lose ourselves in each other. The world is outside fading away as we give in to the feelings that have been building between us for so long. so intense, overwhelming, and everything I never knew I needed...
