It was almost the evening and having closed all that was part of my office, I sat near the window sill. Then, almost immediately, as if to recall me to the common world, my phone buzzed and an SOS came through, from a friend in Aranyaka, and the dark of my evening was electric. Her message, urgent and frantic, conveyed a double dose of bad news: she got placed jobless and in fact she met an accident whereby she became financially insolvent she needed help.

After listening to her carefully, I had a moment to note that Skyline had noticed my frown and was now seated closer than before. 'What is it?' He asked, blowing out gently.

'This is my friend from Aranyaka,' and I was trying to salvage the situation as I pass on the device for him to read what had been sent. This is a lady who has been served dismissal notice recently, and she also had a bitter accident the other day; she needs some money urgently to pay some bills in the hospital.

Skyline's response to student's request was expected to be positive and timely thus, the company answered affirmatively. "This is our woman," he said with a great deal of confidence, "Let us therefore seek to find out how we can support her."

We spoke further on the phone and moved to the understanding that probably it would be more effective if we suggest a more direct manner in which we could assist. Over the on-the-quick supper, we discussed many scenes that ranged from straightforward donations and sponsorship for enhancing the fund base and developing a crowdfunding campaign that would provide a better support base from the network pool.

In the course of the evening, we assembled at Skyline's house with the aim of first setting up the crowdfunding site. Accounting for the emergent situation, we moved further and at a higher pace. For the campaign, I developed the following storytelling that showed my friend and her accomplishments in her community of residence that had been negatively impacted by adversities.

When we first launched the campaign on-line, I copied the web address to my friend and told him that the assistance had commenced. Despite the geographical distance that rendered it almost improbable for me to seek your support in one way or the other the technological advancement ensured that I received your support virtually and or in real terms. I continued to call her and to update her on the progress of the campaign and sometimes would send her a short message to make her feel better.

The reaction to the campaign was ringing. Although it was several days before people could start donating, as it went round the social networks, people started donating in number. The show was presented as a race for life with all the consequent relief every time a new donation had been made I realized that every donation is a step toward my friend to get better and to be able to reconstruct her life.

When Skyline and I were closing our laptops at night the campaign has collected a pretty sum of money. It was the triumph of people's united power and benevolence: we could barely stand on our feet but the results provoked feelings of thankfulness and happiness.
Little conversation was made during the rest of the drive back to the house and everyone seemed to be locked in their own headspaces.

The day had been like any other day and just like any other day to go back to work but the day was to be a mission of sorts trans-Atlantic. Watching the lights of the Eldoria standing in front of the windows an idea of sparks of the kind people all over the world joining to help their friend went through her mind.

It was a deep curb on how even if you were like myself with a busy and stressful work and college schedule, you could help to change a life.
