The Eclipsed Wolf?

Jason POV

"The Eclipsed Wolf? What even is that?" Jackson asked the one question I didn't know the answer to. I have never read anything about The Eclipsed Wolf. I've never even heard of it.

I looked up to where Anya was standing just to see that she had vanished. Again. Jeremy started getting angry at his self and at us for not even noticing that she had gone. Before I could even try to calm him down, he said "This is all your fault Jason! We should have never come here! We should have listened and waited till the Mate Ball to..."

"To what?! Huh?! To find out the same information in a crowd of hundreds of werewolves!" I practically screamed at him. "At least this way we have time to find more information about what she is. At least this way we are the only ones that know her true identity. That is only if she hasn't told anyone else."

"He's right." I was shocked to hear Julian agreeing with me for once. "We have two days to look through the royal library and find any information we can about The Eclipsed Wolf."

We all nodded in agreement, shifted into our wolf forms and made our way as fast as we could back to the palace before anyone could notice we were missing.

A Few Hours Later.

Luckily, we had been able to sneak back in without anyone noticing. Unluckily we spent the rest of the night and all of the morning looking for anything to do with The Eclipsed Wolf and we came up empty handed.

"As happy as I am finding you all in here reading, aren't you all supposed to be training?" Our mother's voice filled the room and surprised us all as we were all deep into whatever we were reading.

"Mom I can explain. We have been up all night..." I stopped Jackson before he could finish that sentence. "RESEARCHING." I basically shouted it out of panic of Jackson telling our mother what we had only just found out. "Researching The Chosen. Since Anya is one of The Chosen, we thought it'd be best to take in all the information we could about them. To better help her with her journey should one or all of us be her mate."

"I see." Mother was a bit taken back by that, but I could see in her eyes that she believed every word I just told her. "Well, when you are all done "Researching" there are four tuxedos' downstairs just waiting for a final try on before the Mate Ball tomorrow." 

With that she exited the room and Jackson pushed my chest, a little irritated and said "Why did you just lie to our mother? If anyone could've helped us find the information we are looking for it's her!"

"I stopped you because what if The Eclipsed Wolf is a bad thing. If it is, if she is then our mother would never let us see her again let alone let us mate with her." I said frustrated.

"He's got a point." Jeremy jumped in. "We need to find more information before we let anyone else know. We can only hope that Anya hasn't told anyone else."

Queen Farrah POV

I had a restless night so when I decided to get up and go for a walk to clear my mind, I glanced out of a hallway window to see four black wolves dart to the forest and out of sight. I didn't panic. I instead went to each of the quads' bedrooms and to my not so surprise, they were all gone.

It took me awhile to figure out where they were sneaking off and that's when I remembered all the runs Jason used to take. I followed him once and found that he was going to the goddess' lake. That had to be where they were going. Maybe to just clear their heads before The Mate Ball.

As a mother does, I stayed up all night waiting for their return. Only when they returned... the vague smell of strawberries was all over them. I wondered where in the world they had gotten strawberries to eat while they were out. I decided to shrug it off. 

At least until I finally found them in the library this morning. Still wearing the same clothes, they were wearing last night... 

After I walked out of the room... something told me to hold back for a moment and listen. I heard one of them say The Eclipsed Wolf and worry set in. I had strategically had all the books to do anything with that werewolf hidden away in a secret room in my bedroom. 

Why would they be looking for information about The Eclipsed Wolf? I thought to myself. I hurried down to the seamstress' room before they could catch me eavesdropping on their conversation.

As I reached for the handle to enter the room that is when it hit me. I remembered reading something about The Goddess' Lake. Not only does it only show itself to werewolves with royal blood but also to The Eclipsed Wolf.

If they encountered this very werewolf last night, then they could be in more danger than they realize.  I have read stories about The Eclipsed Wolf, and it is true that she was originally created by the Moon Goddess herself to protect all werewolves but in some cases her powers were used for more evil than good.

The quads will probably return to the lake tonight. I have to follow them. I have to know who The Eclipsed Wolf is. I must capture her and keep her contained to ensure she never regains her true abilities. I must protect my kids. I must protect my kingdom. I must protect all werewolves.
