My first class of the day was Intro to Graphic Design from 9AM to 10:30AM. Not a bad length for a class. Regardless, I was still a bit groggy from the lack of coffee I had this morning due to my rush.

Maybe I'll grab an iced coffee after class...

There were a few coffee shops sprinkled throughout the campus, as there were on most college campus'.

Buzz.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out and saw that Yuji had texted me. Already?!

Yuji: HEY!!! It was so nice meeting you today! :D

I laughed to myself at his enthusiasm. Even through texting, he was able to convey his energy.

Natalie: hey! it was great meeting u too! :)

I was just about to put my phone back into my pocket, when it buzzed again.

Yuji: What time does your class end? Mine doesn't start until 1PM and I'm HUNGRYYY!!!

He texted back that fast?! This guy wasn't joking about him texting a lot...

Natalie: my class ends at 10:30am
Natalie: we can get lunch if u want!

I didn't even bother putting my phone away, knowing he was going to respond immediately again.

Yuji: WOOHOO! Sounds good! Meet me at the coffee shop near Wilson Square. You'll see a HUGEEE clock tower there! It's in that shopping center!

I liked his message and finally tucked my phone away. I was always the social one in my friend groups, making sure to be seen and heard, but not the only one who was seen and heard. Having someone like Yuji as a friend was definitely going to be an adjustment. Someone who naturally pulled others in. Someone who you felt compelled to like. Someone I wish I was.

Ugh, what the hell am I thinking? I just met this guy and I'm already getting a complex about him? Relax, Natalie, jeez.

I blamed my trailing thoughts on my lack of caffeine.

I finally made it to the building where my first class was to be held. Intro to Graphic Design.

I pushed open the door and walked in, using the map on my phone to find the room. I tracked the room number down and walked in, scanning the class.

I was about 15 minutes early, so I wasn't expecting many people to be here yet. It was a lecture hall setting, with about 10 students here so far. Hopefully there's a few more. The more students, the easier it was to blend in.

I took a seat near the middle and got situated. Before I knew it, class was starting, and a few more students had poured in gradually between the 15 minutes I got here and when the class started.

"Hello, everyone. Welcome to what I assume is your first class of the semester. I'm Mrs.Roth-"

"Thank you," I told Mrs.Roth as I passed by her on my way out. I followed the stream of students exiting the class as we all left.

The class itself wasn't that eventful- just introductions, expectations, deadlines, grading stuff, etc. My eyes felt like they had weights on them the entire time, and I had regretted not getting a coffee before the class. I was definitely getting one before my next class, though.
