Seeing the sun set and the moon rise, I admire the view for a minute before I go back to writing in my journal. "Today Mayeli smiled at me in class when I was helping her with the work Mrs Johnson had assigned. Watching her loose curls fall beneath her eyes and seeing as she moved them out of the way to see. The only thought I had at that time was how beautiful she is and how I want to make her mine."

My writing is interrupted when my father comes in my room asking me what's for dinner with a beer bottle in his hand stammering over his words and struggling to walk straight. I get up and proceed to the kitchen where I make him hamburger helper, my appetite hasn't been all that good ever since my mother died so I choose not to eat tonight.

Going back to my room I lay in my fluffy bed staring at the ceiling in hopes of someone saving me from this nightmare I call a life yet time and time again my wishes go unheard, this occupies my mind till I drift away to sleep.

Waking up to my alarm blaring, I can't help but feel excited because I get to see the love of my life even though she doesn't know I like her or see her more than a friend. Seeing my father passed out on the couch I think to myself "pathetic ill never end up like you." As I make my way to the bathroom to freshen up and to put my uniform on, looking at my watch seeing I only have 5 minutes to make it to the bus stop.

I start to rush making it just in time. I'm greeted by one of my only friends helen we've known eachother since middle school and we've done everything together. She's the only person who truly understands me. She smiles at me with the brightest smile and her dimples showing underneath her hazel eyes.
"How'd ya sleep Arin you look tired as a mf" Helen says with a grin on her face
"I slept good helen what abt you?" I ask the question back to her "real mfs don't sleep you know this Arin" helen replies chuckling as we get on the bus to go to school.

The bus ride was silent as I had my headphones in disassociating myself from the rest of the kids that go to my school. "Looking out the window I see Mayeli walking to school, her shiny brown skin and her luscious long curls she had on a new bracelet that she hadn't worn before.

Watching her from the corner of my eye so she doesn't feel like someone is watching her in a creepy way. She catches me looking through the bus window and she waves at me showing her pearly white teeth. My face starts to turn red as I can't contain my excitement, "I hope everyday can be like this I think to myself."
