Operational 09 Forest, Neo-Soviet Union
February 20, 2062, 10:30
The air was crisp and cold, the sun barely penetrating the dense forest canopy that stretched for miles in every direction. Snow crunched underfoot as Sokolov and the T-Dolls moved swiftly through the thick woods, the winter chill biting at their faces. Despite the freezing temperatures, the group moved with purpose, their breaths visible in the cold air.
Sokolov led the way, gripping his AK-74M tightly. The rifle's familiar weight was a bitter reminder of countless battles. Even in this new world of advanced warfare, the cycle of violence remained unchanged.
Behind him, G36, MP5, M14, and MG3 moved in a wedge formation, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of the approaching Sangvis force. Alongside them, their dummies—a set of replicas controlled by the main T-Dolls' mainframe—followed along watching various angles. These dummies, indistinguishable at a glance, extended the reach and effectiveness of each T-Doll, allowing them to engage multiple targets simultaneously or execute complex maneuvers with ease.
As Sokolov watched the T-Dolls and their dummies move in perfect sync, he recalled the crash course on commanding them. The theory had been overwhelming, but seeing it in action was something else. What had been a single squad now functioned like an entire platoon, with each T-Doll commanding five dummies that mirrored their every move.
It was both awe-inspiring and unsettling. The T-Dolls effectively multiplied their combat presence, covering angles and threats that a traditional squad couldn't manage alone.
Kalina's voice crackled in his headset, snapping him back to the moment.
Kalina: Commander, I've got the Orlan drone up and running. The Sangvis formation is about a kilometer north of your current position, moving fast. Seems like they haven't spotted you yet.
Sokolov pushed the PTT on his vest, his voice low and measured as he responded to Kalina.
Sokolov: Understood. Keep the drone on them and relay any changes.
Sokolov checked the topography on the phone mounted to his plate carrier, scrolling through the detailed map displayed on the screen. The area was dense with trees and uneven terrain, a perfect backdrop for an ambush. He quickly assessed the optimal positions for their setup.
Turning to the T-Dolls, he issued his orders with practiced precision.
Sokolov: Alright, here's the plan. We're going to set up an ambush. MG3, I need you to position your dummies to create kill zones along the anticipated path of the Sangvis force. Make sure they're well-hidden and cover the most likely routes the enemy will take.
He turned to M14.
Sokolov: M14, pick off any stragglers or those who evade the initial kill zones.
Next, he addressed MP5.
Sokolov: MP5, provide rear security. Keep an eye out for any reinforcements or attempts to flank us. We need to ensure nothing slips past us.
Finally, he turned to G36.
Sokolov: G36, stick with me. We'll position ourselves to cut off their retreat and ensure they don't escape. Everyone understood? Good.
Sokolov watched as the T-Dolls moved into action, each taking their assigned roles. MG3 began positioning her dummies to create lethal kill zones, while M14 took up a vantage point to deal with any potential stragglers. MP5 set up her rear security, scanning the surroundings for any signs of reinforcements or attempts to flank.
