The countdown began, the air thick with anticipation. Midnight's voice, booming over the loudspeaker, cut through the tension. "Fifteen minutes until the start of the Human Cavalry Battle!"
The student body erupted in a flurry of activity. Alliances were forged, strategies whispered, and nervous energy crackled in the air. Midoriya, however, felt a knot of anxiety twist in his gut. He was still struggling to find teammates. Everyone seemed hesitant to join forces with someone whose quirk was a mystery, someone worth a whopping ten million points.
"Wanna team up?" A familiar voice cut through his thoughts. He looked up, startled, to see you standing before him. A friendly grin lit up your face, radiating an aura of confidence that was infectious.
Uraraka appeared beside you, her usual cheerful demeanor tinged with worry. "Hey, Deku-kun! I was hoping we could team up too. I'd rather work with friends, you know?'' she said excitedly
Midoriya's heart soared. "See? Uraraka gets it... I want to team up with friends too." You returned him yet another smile, a sense of relief washing over him. "But we still need one more person."
He turned towards Iida, hoping to convince his friend to join. "Iida-kun! We're forming a team - "
"I appreciate the offer, Midoriya," Iida interrupted, his voice firm. "However, while I consider you a friend, I see you as a rival as well. This battle is a chance for me to improve, to learn from our past encounters. I've decided to team up with Todoroki." He nodded in the direction of the stoic ice and fire user, already forming a team with Kaminari and Momo.
"Best of luck, Iida!" You offered him a reassuring smile. He returned the gesture before rejoining his team.
Midoriya's eyes scanned the assembling groups of students, his mind racing as he tried to find the perfect teammate. He needed someone who could provide the power they lacked, someone who could protect them while he fought for the headband. His gaze fell on a lone figure standing in the shadows.
"Who are you thinking of?" you asked curiously, your eyes following his line of sight. The moment you saw the person he was fixated on, you nodded, a knowing smile spreading across your face. "Nice..."
