Christmas dinner at Hogwarts was amazing. A hundred fat, roast turkey, mountains of roast and boiled patatoes, platter of fat chipolatas, tureens of buttered peas, silver boats of thick, rich gravy and cranberry sauce and stacks of wizard crackers every few feet along the table.Fred and George pulled a wizard cracker and it didn't just bang, it went off with a blast like a canon and engulfed us all in a cloud of blue smoke, while from the inside exploded a rear-admiral's hat and several live, white mice.
Up on the High Table, Dumbledore had swaped his pointed wizard's hat for a flowered bonnet and was chuckling merrily at a joke Professor Flitwick had just read him. Julie couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
Flaming Christmas puddings followed the turkey. Percy nearly broke his teeth on a silver Sickle embedded in his slice.
Julie watched Hagrid getting redder and redder in the face as he called for more wine, finally kissing Professor McGonagll on the cheek, who to my amazment, giggled and blushed, her top hat lop-sided.
"That could be us" Harry whispered in her ear.
Before Julie could even process what he had said, she stomped hard on his foot.
"Ow!" Harry yelped, shooting Julie an accusing look, who she couldn't help smirking.
When they left the table, Julie was laden down with a stack of things out of the crackers, including a pack of non-explodable, luminous balloons and a grow-your-own-warts kit.
The white mice disappeared and Julie had a nasty feeling that they were going to end up as Mrs Norris' Christmas dinner.
The boys and her spent a happy afternoon having a furious snowball fight in the grounds.
It started with Julie throwing a tiny bit of snow at Harry.
"You're going to regret that, Jules!" Harry yelled as he took a lot of snow, formed it into a huge ball and threw it back at her. It landed right in her face.
"SNOWBALL FIGHT!" Fred screamed when everyone started throwing snowballs.
It was amazing and no one could stop them. George then threw a big snowball at Julie which landed right on my stomach and made her stumble.
Unfortunately, Harry was standing right behind Julie and he fell on the ground pulling her with him.
"Erm-" Julie said awkwardly as she sat on top of him.
"You can stay on top of me" Harry said with a casual smirk "I like it this way"
Julie quickly stood up and fixed her hair, when she saw that Mason was whispering something to Harry whose cheeks turned pink.
Cold, wet and gasping they decided to return to the Gryffindor common room.
Ron and Harry were breaking in Harrys new chess set, he had gotten from the wizard cracker and Julie was next to them, writing the letters to all the people who she wanted to thank for the christmas gifts.
She couldn't help but chuckle when Harry lost spectacularly to Ron. Julie suspected that he wouldn't have lost so badly if Percy hadn't tried to help him so much.
After a tea of turkey sandwiches, crumpets, trifle and Christmas cake, everyone felt too full and sleepy to do much before bed except sit and watch Percy chase Fred and George they'd stolen his prefect badge.
It had been the best Christmas day ever. I wanted to end the perfect day by reading a bit and chose the book that Hermione got me. Julie read it under her blanket, so she wouldn't wake Ron or Harry.
Suddenly somebody pulled the blanket down. It was Harry.
"Geez, you scared me." Julie said, clutching her chest mockingly.
"M'lady" he said as he showed her the Invisibility Cloak and offered his hand. Julie realized what he wanted to do.
"Why thank you kind sir" Julie answered as she accepted his hand.
They crept out of the dormitory, down the stairs, across the common room and climbed trough the portrait hole.
