"I'm not saying that I don't like you, unnie-"

"Then why do you keep rejecting my approach when you're supposed—"

"I don't like skinship when it's scripted. You, unnie, already know that."

Dami never had. Skinship, when scripted, was something she was very uncomfortable with.

Their company had always tried to sell the idea that everyone got along like a close family, and, in some ways, it was just like one. A family—not necessarily close—but, you don't have to love all your family members, do you? You sometimes even hate one or two—or several—of them.

The truth was that Dami could never get as close to Yoohyeon, Handong, and Gahyeon—especially Yoohyeon—as with the rest of the members.

The respect Yubin had for Jiu became the bridge on which their closeness was able to walk, yet the main rapper had always gotten along with Sua and Siyeon just fine.

Sua's aggressiveness and non-traditional approach were something that most people felt repelled by—especially Koreans—but, unlike most traditional Asians—and the general public—Yubin only pretended to dislike Sua's overly excited side on camera, while behind the crystal lens, the main dancer could be all kinds of energetic, loud, and playful, and she would be more than okay with it.

Sua once told her that she didn't like how Dami changed her personality whenever cameras rolled. Yubin understood where she came from, but, in her eyes—and the company's—Sua's behavior when it came to certain members was too intimate to display to the public eye; and just because of how Dami seemed to like it, their entire fanservice ship was immediately banned as too real.

Sua knew that well, yet she had mentioned her dislike for Camera-Dami. The main rapper understood that it was Sua-unnie's way of saying: Please, never reject me like that behind cameras.

And everyone knew that if Dami ever showed her true colors when cameras rolled, people would think too much about it and become too hateful too quickly. Because the way Dami would give into Sua's approach was too nice; too easy.

Their company had talked about skin-ship and the ships they would sell to their fans. They wanted to create a balance; a way to please everyone watching, so, they paired Dami with Yoohyeon because they didn't get along so well when there was no script on the line. Of course, the story repeated itself with the Sua/Yoohyeon and the Jiu/Yoohyeon pairings, which was the reason as to why the company decided to market each of them as if they were their most prized possession.

Their managers understood the level of closeness each girl had with one another, and they considered and measured the pros and cons of how the public might turn their likes into dislikes if things became too real. Hence, the Sua/Dami and the Siyeon/Dami ships were off the table because of how intimate it all became when being let run free.
