There was no telling how the conversation in the dorms escalated to talking about past relationships. Katsuki didn't really care. He thinks it might've been some game that got off track. Again, Katsuki didn't care.

And then Deku of all people mentioned having a boyfriend in middle school. This, of course, caught Katsuki's attention. There wasn't a single person at Aldera who would have even wanted to look at Deku, let alone date him.

"You're a liar," Katsuki scoffed, catching the attention of his classmates.

"No way, Deku is cute enough to have a boyfriend, I think!" Uraraka countered, and the idiot flushed with embarrassment.

"I did! He was.." Deku sighed, wringing his hands together, "he was an online boyfriend." Gasps spread throughout the room.

"Midoriya," Iida looked like Deku had personally offended him, "you should know better than that! Online safety is very important, you don't know who was behind the screen or what they wanted to do to you!"

"Shut up," Mina whined, before turning to Deku. "Tell us all about this mystery boyfriend!" She added enthusiastically, smiling expectantly.

Katsuki didn't care. But he listened as Deku weaved together a tale of a young boy on the web. He didn't care, but maybe he was a little curious. Deku explained how he had met the supposed boyfriend on an All Might forum, and how the two bonded over a shared love for the number one hero. And then they got closer with both their shared interests and a connection. Deku supposedly told the "online boyfriend" about how he always wanted to be a hero, saving people “with a smile on his face!”

Deku then explained how the boy had confided in him in his doubts about his own future and his own worth. He had a powerful quirk and was always praised for it, but it always put him as a higher standard than his classmates. It was exhausting for the boy, and so Deku had done his best to provide comfort and show that he cared.

Wait.

"I bet you never even saw the kid's face," Katsuki muttered, "how'd you know he was actually a kid?"

Iida tried saying something about online safety once again, but was brushed off.

"I mean, he talked like he was my age. And we both complained about a lot of the same schoolwork. I think our schools were going at the same sort of pace," Deku explained. "I didn't ever see his face, but he never saw mine, either."

"If his profile didn't have his face for you to see, then what was his profile picture?" Uraraka asked.

"Oh, a wolf. We both laughed about it because it was representative of how he was the alpha male or something like that."

It felt like Katsuki's heart had dropped to his stomach.

"So what happened to him?" Uraraka asked.

Deku shrugged, "He disappeared one day and never came back.” There's a fond smile on his face as he seemed to be reminiscing about the past. “I hope he's doing well.”

Katsuki remembered meeting a nice boy online in middle school. He remembered choosing the wolf because he didn't know what to make his profile photo. He knew enough about online safety to not make his profile photo his own face, of course. He and the boy had joked about it a lot, and Katsuki remembered how warm his chest felt during those interactions. He'd always wanted to know his online boyfriend in person. They had fantasized together about going on dates and training to be heroes together.

Katsuki had never told anyone else how he felt kind of lonely and pressured as someone with a strong quirk. He never told anyone about the boy, or how he completely lost contact after wrecking his computer.

The realization was sudden, and very unwelcome. It really did seem that AllMightlvr#72 was none other than Izuku Fucking Midoriya. Unknowingly, Katsuki had dated the one person he would never ever want to date. Or be close with.

He would never live this down. He would not tell any of these extras.

"Deku. Outside. Now." Katsuki dragged Deku outside, ignoring the (word for upset) calls of his classmates. Outside, he began pacing the porch.

"Kacchan..?"

"You're AllMightlvr?!" Katsuki exclaimed, though his voice quickly dropped to a whisper as he looked around to make sure no one heard him. He repeats the question again, quieter.

Deku looked confused, before his face morphed into something mixed between shock, bewilderment, and amusement. "You're allmightnr1fan?" His jaw dropped.

"You will tell no one about this or I'll blast your ass to Mars." Katsuki's palms crackled.

"You were my boyfriend?! But-- you-- what?!" It was Deku's turn to pace now, at least until Katsuki grabbed his shoulders and forced their eyes to meet.

"This stays between us." Katsuki had never felt such dread in his life. Not when he was kidnapped by the league, not during All Might's last fight. Nothing would ever compare to this moment right here.

Deku nodded his agreement, a laugh bubbling out his throat.

"This is crazy."

"So shut up about it."

A few minutes pass in awkward silence, in which Katsuki questions everything he's ever done ever to lead up to this moment. Maybe Iida was right on that online safety thing. You never know who is behind the screen.

"So...." Deku kicked at the ground, breaking the heavy silence, "why did you disappear?"

Katsuki sighed, long and hard. He kind of wanted to scream into the void until he forgot any of this happened. He kind of wanted to sit down and talk things out with Deku.

"Broke my computer. Blasted it to pieces when I got upset at a game. Then I was grounded for a while and then I couldn't log back into the forum."

"Oh.” Deku snickered after a pause, “That sounds like you.”

Katsuki huffed, shoving the boy lightly. “Shut up.”

Deku shoves him back with his shoulder, amusement fading into something more contemplative.

“You could've talked to me about how you were feeling, y'know,” Deku murmured, pointedly not meeting Katsuki’s eyes when he looked down at him. “Even if you hated my guts at school, you know I'm always here for you, right?”

“Even after everything?” Katsuki’s voice went uncharacteristically quiet, and he shoved his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants.

“You were my first friend. Of course I would be for you after everything.” Deku sighed, “I'm glad I ended up being there for you somehow, even if you didn't know it was me.”

Eventually, when they returned inside, Deku dismissed any questions sent their way about what had happened outside. If anyone questioned Deku sitting on the floor in front of Katsuki’s spot on the couch, they were quickly snapped at by the blond. The topic quickly shifted, and the small group forgot anything had even happened between the two boys.

If Katsuki secretly sent a good night message to Deku, like he once had all those years ago, it was nobody’s business but their own.
