I look up at the sky. The day is slowly waning to night as the clouds gather and separate before moving on to new horizons. I've always loved watching the sky. It gives me a sense of peace. That everything begins and ends the way it's supposed to. I inhale the scent of smoke as a small tear drips down my downy cheek. Flames slowly lick their way up my legs. I resist the urge to look down. My eyesight fades in and out as I reach my hand out to the heavens. The tears are a waterfall of my life choices. They pass by in quick intervals, dripping and pooling until they reach their final destination against the scorching ground. A smile plays on my lips and I lose all feeling in my body. I lower my arm and lean back, finally giving into the fate that has dogged my steps since the day I met Her.
