Tristan Benette was your average 33-year-old closeted gay who finds solace reading random novels of any genre in the internet after his long tedious overtime work every day. He does this out of habit to relieve himself from the stress of his mundane life but doesn't usually invest his personal emotions to the fictional worlds he has been delving upon.
Well, except for this story he is currently reading and close to finishing entitled "The Two Heirs Gambit", where you have a strong female lead duking it out with a rich and cocky male lead. He has no problem with the plot, it was your typical enemies to lover's trope and the execution was pretty decent EXCEPT for the fact that the author bestowed almost all misfortunes on the second male lead who ended up dying because of an annoying side character! Not even for the heroine! The audacity!
This is the first time he could actually relate to a character given their similar circumstances so he has been favoring and rooting for the second ML all this time despite knowing he is not the end game. Because of this unacceptable turn of events, after reading the epilogue, he ended up messaging the author on her social media account in a fit of rage.
Dear you shi*tty a** Author!
How dare you kill Xavier! He deserves better! If you're going to kill him, it should've have been for the sake of the heroine not for some sh*tty a** side character!!! I've never been so infuriated over a piece of fiction in my entire life and I sarcastically compliment you for being the first one to do so! I demand an alternate ending where my favorite character has his happily ever after or I will personally kidnap you and ship you to Antarctica!
P.S. The last sentence is a joke but actually 1% meant.
