Chapter 1: So, Like, My Life
OMG! Can u believe it's August already? Like, where did summer go? I turned the big 1-4 last month. It's totally weird. I mean, I'm still totally a kid, but at the same time, I'm like, almost a teenager. It's so confusing!
I live in this totally lame town called Maplewood. It's like, the same people forever. My crib is on Oak St. - it's ok, I guess. We have this old porch swing that's like, super creaky. But it's kinda chill to sit there and think. I'm always like, lost in my thoughts, ya know?
I'm an only child, which is both good and bad. My mom's a nurse, so she's always busy saving lives and stuff. She's like, the nicest person ever. My dad's a writer dude. He stays home and types on this old typewriter. It's like, so retro. He's always got his nose in a book or something.
I'm not the smartest or the prettiest, but I'm a good observer. Like, I notice stuff that other people don't. It's kinda my thing. I don't have that many friends, but the ones I do have are like, totally awesome. We hang out at the mall, listen to Avril Lavigne, and talk about boys.
School starts soon, and I'm like, totally dreading it. Ninth grade, can u even? I'm gonna have to deal with new classes, new teachers, and maybe even a new locker. It's gonna be a total disaster!
Ok, gotta go. Ttyl!
Mia
P.S. I'm totally addicted to my new studded belt!
