Chapter 2: Darkness rising part 2

ONE DAY EARLIER...

Somewhere around Jasper, a heavily modified red 1970 Dodge Challenger with two horns on the front of the hood and zoomie style side exhaust on both sides is driving on the road. That red car is an Autobot named Cliffjumper and he was talking to his partner, Arcee over transmission. "So, there i am on the lookout when out of nowhere these high beams light up my rear view. And then it hits me, i'm illegally parked." said Cliffjumper to Arcee who was driving on the road in another part of Nevada. "Another parking ticket?" she asked. "Better, the boot." he replied. "Big metal tire clamp impossible to remove." said Arcee. "Bingo! So the local police do their thing and i let them get all the way down the block. That's when i kick off my new shiny shoe and bang!" he told her. "New York's finest soil themselves." said Arcee. "You know me Arcee. Mess with Cliffjumper..." "And you get the horns." she finished his last sentence and he laughed in response. "Not sure how that complies with Autobot rule number one: keep a low profile." she told him. "What can i say? Patrolling for energon out here in Dullsville gets lonesome. Almost makes me miss the Decepticons." he told her. "Like Jasper Nevada's a party, we're alone wherever we travel on this rock, Cliff." said Arcee.

Then Cliffjumper noticed the tracker had picked up on something. "I'm getting a signal." he told Arcee. "Need backup?" she asked. "Do i ever need backup?" Cliffjumper asked sarcastically and proceeds to take another road and followed the signal. He found energon crystal on a valley. "I just found a whole lot of energon." said Cliffjumper. But then a large shadow looms over him and he noticed. "Decepticons!" said Cliffjumper as he transforms back to his robot mode. He looked up and saw their warship called the Nemesis, the cannons aimed at him and shoot, sending the red Autobot flying to the energon mine. He got up and a troop of vehicons arrives on the scene. "Arcee, about that backup." he said through the transmission. "Fair warning boys, i'll put a few dings in ya." he told them and transforms to his vehicle mode and drived in full speed enough that he got up in the air and the fight began.

"Arcee to Optimus: The cons are back! Cliff might be neck deep in scrap!" she told Optimus. "Understood. Ratchet, do you have Cliffjumper's coordinates?" Optimus asked the medic who was in a cold area somwhere on earth. "I'm locked on his signal, Optimus. But our team is scattered across time zones." Ratchet replied. "Arcee, Breakdown, Knockout, Elita- one, Bumblebee. Rendezvous back at base and prepare to ground bridge." he informed the Autobots.

Meanwhile, Cliffjumper is fighting the vehicons all by himself, but the vehicons got the upperhand and beat him up, breaking his horn in the process. He was send flying back to the energon mines and he stood his ground as the vehicon troops slides down. "You want the horns? you got em." he said and began shooting at them with his blasters and manage to kill one of them. The troops proceeds to shoot back at him and Cliffjumper avoid the blaster as he shoots back. But one of the blasters from the vehicons hits the energon, which causes a massive exploison. The vehicons then dragged the unconsious Autobot back to the Decepticon base. "The energon. It's worthless to me now." said Starscream who watched the whole thing from the ship. The two vehicons arrvied to the command deck with Cliffjumper and dragged him towards him. "Scream, it's been a while. So, where's your master?" he asked him. "Never mind him! I am my own master!" Starscream replied angrily and violently stabs Cliffjumper's chest. "Any more questions?" he asked mockingly. Cliffjumper's energon then poured on the ground before he fell headfirst onto the floor, mortally wounded, dying soon after of his wounds. "Clean that up." he ordered the two vehicons.

The Nemesis then flew away from the destroyed energon mine just as the ground brige opened. Ratchet, Breakdown, Knockout, Arcee, Bumblebee, Elita- one and finally Optimus Prime arrived on the scene, their weapons drawned out and ready to fight, but they have arrived too late. "An untapped energon deposit." said Optimus observing the scene. "What's left of it." Breakdown pointed out. "The first Decepticon activity in three years." said Ratchet. "That we know of. If they're scouting for energon, they may be preparing for his return." Optimus pointed out. Arcee, Bumblebee and Knockout went down to find any sign of Cliff. Arcee noticed a piece of a broken silver horn on the ground, she then picked it up and realized it's from Cliffjumper. "No." she muttered and showed them the piece of his horn. "Ratchet, can you track his position?" Optimus asked Ratchet who nodded in response. he checked on the life signals, he noticed Cliffjumper's life signal moving away from them, it went from orange to red and then fade away. "No. Cliffjumper's life signal just went offline." he said and looked at the Nemesis flying off from a distance. "Cee, i'm so sorry." said Elita- one as she held her younger sister in a hug to comfort her.
