Jiya blinked against the sudden brightness, her eyes struggling to adjust. The room was dimly lit, shadows flickering in the corners. She tried to make sense of her surroundings, feeling a growing sense of unease. Suddenly, she sensed movement behind her, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Who's there?" she called out, her voice trembling slightly.
Silence answered her. She turned slowly, her eyes scanning the dark room. Just as she was about to call out again, the lights flickered on, revealing Aryan standing just inches away from her. His face was so close that she let out a small scream.
"Whoa, whoa, calm down, it's just me!" Aryan laughed, stepping back and holding up his hands in mock surrender.
Jiya's heart was still racing. "Aryan! What the hell? Why would you do something so stupid and scary?"
Aryan chuckled, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a red rose. "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Here, take this as a peace offering."
Jiya eyed the rose suspiciously before taking it from him. "It's beautiful," she admitted, a small smile forming on her lips.
Aryan's gaze softened as he looked at her. "You know, it smells just as beautiful as it looks," he said in his signature flirty tone.
Jiya brought the rose closer to her face, ready to inhale its fragrance. Just as she was about to smell it, a small jet of water squirted from the rose, hitting her right in the face.
Aryan burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. "How could you expect me to be romantic when you know me so well?"
Jiya wiped her face, her initial surprise turning into anger. "You're such an idiot, Aryan!" She got up from the chair, her patience exhausted, and started to leave.
Aryan quickly grabbed her arm from behind. "Wait, Jiya. Don't go."
She turned around, her eyes flashing with anger. "Let go of me, Aryan."
Instead, Aryan dropped to one knee, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket. "Jiya, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" His voice, for once, was sincere and devoid of his usual playful tone.
Jiya stood there, stunned into silence, her mind racing. Aryan, noticing her lack of response, grinned up at her. "Are you going to say something or just stand there like a doll? My knees are killing me!"
Jiya couldn't help but laugh at his comment. "I never expected you to be this way... like a cute gentleman."
Aryan's smile widened. "Well, there's a lot you don't know about me." He wiggled his eyebrows, trying to lighten the mood.
Jiya took a deep breath, her heart still pounding. "You really know how to catch a girl off guard, don't you?"
"That's the plan," Aryan said, still on one knee. "So, what do you say?"
Jiya decided to tease him a bit. "Hmm, I'm not sure. I mean, can I trust a guy who squirts water in my face with a rose?"
Aryan's expression turned mock-serious. "Hey, that was just a test to see if you have a sense of humor. And clearly, you do!"
Finally, Jiya's teasing grin softened. "Alright, Aryan. Yes, I'll be your girlfriend."
Aryan jumped up in excitement, wrapping Jiya in a tight hug. "Finally! I knew you'd fall for my charm."
Jiya rolled her eyes playfully. "Yeah, yeah. Don't let it go to your head."
Aryan looked at her, his eyes twinkling with joy. "You have no idea how happy you've made me." He pulled back slightly, looking deeply into her eyes. "I promise, I'll make you laugh every day."
Jiya blushed, something that rarely happened. "You already do," she admitted softly.
Before Aryan could say another word, Jiya leaned in and kissed him gently. It was a soft, sweet kiss that made Aryan's heart race.
When they finally pulled apart, Aryan grinned. "So, are you going to keep surprising me like this?"
Jiya laughed. "Only if you keep being the charming, unpredictable guy I fell for."
Aryan's flirty tone returned. "Deal. But just so you know, I plan on surprising you a lot."
Jiya's smile widened. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
